Lately I’ve noticed that all of my race replays are basically unwatchable, because all the cars move with a violent jerkiness that is very unnatural. It’s especially noticeable around corners, cars will literally shift multiple feet side to side for some strange reason. Like I said, its made replays essentially unwatchable and this definitely wasn’t an issue at launch.
@Tfox245 - My friends and I have also experienced issues with the replays and I’ve gotten quite a few responses on my thread. http://forums.forza.net/turn10_postst51384_Forza-6---Replay-saved-but-not-working--cars-stay-at-start-idling.aspx Hopefully they will fix it soon.
OP, you’re not the first person reporting this. This was reported in the FM5 forums as well, and is an issue which dates back to FM3.
However, the jerkiness was only limited to replays until FM5 - in F5 and 6 you will get a very rare but somewhat noticeable frame stutter, much like what you notice in the replays. The replay jerkiness though is more noticeable since it’s running at 30 fps.
It’s a minor annoyance, pretty much a non-issue I suppose - the minute frame jerk/stutter was a rather noticeable issue in FM5 gameplay, but its become very rare in FM6. As for resolving it, you might try turning on some of your TV’s motion enhancements to see if that gets rid of it.
Reason: to my knowledge (studied IT in college and have been gaming on multiple platforms for over 3 decades), this kind of stuttering could happen due to a possible memory leak, HDD not being able to sync data with 100% efficiency or programming that hasn’t been completely optimized. It usually comes down to the game maxing out the console’s available resources.
Worry not friend, like I said, minor issue that they will most likely have worked out in the coming months.
was it a ghost race?
Everybody is experiencing this issue guys.
PROBLEM - replay hits the max size, file container fails to write, you get a “saved replay” that doesn’t actually work.
Thats my guess anyways.
I gotta say guys this is probably a matter of working around xbox either their buffer for video, or some max size or memory issue. THAT BEING SAID this dates back to Forza 4 when Turn 10 BROKE the replay feature with the first content update. It’s sad to me this can’t be fixed or worked around and it was the same thing in F5 and now F6. With the no car clubs no auction house no shared files I hoped things like this would be working.
Please turn 10 fix this now.
I think better hardware and software optimization (mostly hardware) on the X1 should get rid of these annoyances for good. Time will tell. Do you recall those threads in the FM5 and H2 forums on micro-stutters in the race and replays? These laggy/stuttering issues are generally caused by memory leaks. Upgrading to a faster HDD may or may not resolve it. It’s a gamble. Because the new X1’s with faster SSD drives also have gamers complaining about such issues.
