If you have gamepass you could try Forza Motorsport for free when it comes out. Might have better handling.
@ReportedPeak2
Absolutely nothing wrong with suggesting your tunes, I’ll try a few tonight. Thanks for creating them and making them available.
@AntMoose9513
I’ve already preordered it.
@PandemicBow2072
Coincidentally I just got back from Best Buy with a new Xbox Elite controller, I’m going to try it now.
… I use a G923 and I have over 2000 hours in this game. Don’t think of it as a disadvantage, think of it as requiring a higher level of skill and ability and rise to the occasion.
You’re welcome to try any tunes I have shared, but I make no claims as to them being competitive ‘online’ because I don’t really do that. I also make no claims that they are going to resolve your issues, only that I tune for handling because as a wheel user you have to do that and most people don’t because most tuners don’t use wheels and thus don’t have to really pay attention quite so much to the physics we have to consider. If there is some specific car / class you want feel free to DM me, or reply here and I’ll give it a try.
I’m not generally the type to toot my own horn, I play for myself and my own goals, and I don’t really care what people think. I place in top 1% of rivals, I finish the playlists in mere hours, I have just shy of 400k CR, I have over 1M Accolade Points, I’ve completed both HW and Rally Adventure DLC, I have all the cars.
I even drive RWD S1 and S2 cars, in races, and …gasp Trials!!! ![]()
My point again is not to make claims that I’m some great master of this game with a wheel, only that I’ve done it all with this wheel, and it can be done, it just takes a different mind set and a different set of disciplines to master in order to be successful.
Good luck, stick with it, it’s really worth it and for me any way really helps with the immersion factor.
Ok attached my wheel and somehow can reproduce it. On dirt it’s almost “unplayable”.
But seems they added new “feature” maybe that’s why it’s “broken”
The last 3 settings are new compared with old screenshots of my settings. My old menu ended with offroad feel scale and later with steering-sensitivity.
Tried to beat the drivatars on dirt but no way i finish with 30+ seconds more. Other thing is some difference between cameras. While driving i’ve used the dashcam and in replay it used external cam and it showed the backtires doing burnout most of the time (AWD)…
OP was doing 200+ hours so it can’t be same thing these settings are rly new. Not even showing in 1month old yt videos.
Update: No idea how i’ve triggered it but there is some bs going on. I have done hours with that car and on that track with wheel and now i’m not able to take first corner. Was doing the lambo rivals last month with wheel there.
It’s 1 full rotation midcorner and car doesn’t turn… Never worked like this! And “always” spinning out (u can’t catch) and so hard to get back on track feels bit horizon 4 with some meta rwd tune
Rly hope it’s not merged with motorsport… (prevent ppl from going offroad there)
Update2: After some restart it worked normal again on the horizon track
FYI: Dirt Ai is also bugged. If you get a dirt race where the Ai lead car is at an impossible lead almost instantly, all you can do is restart the race and hope it stops being buggy.
As for your settings: I think these are on consoles only, as I’m on PC and don’t have them.
I have a G923 on PC and have G-Hub installed which controls the settings you’re showing.
Should be noted that what you show is how my G-hub is also set up.

So it appears that those settings may be to help Wheel users on consoles who can’t load things like Ghub.
my settings:
I also have a G923 but i play on keyboard and one of the main reasons is that offroad the game is an absolute nightmare with steering wheel.
With keyboard unbeatable difficulty is fairly easy at cross county and very easy at dirt racing but with steering wheel both of them painfully hard on highly skilled already.
And of course i’m not gonna mention how much of a pain are drifting, horizon open, eliminator, playground games, pr stunts, stories etc with steering wheel while most of that ridiculously easy with keyboard.
However if someone really wants to play with steering wheel then better don’t look on Youtube videos because most of them make it worse than the default settings. You need to find the best possible settings by testing what fits you the best and by trying them in several situations and this can take several hours.
From times to times i see cases of players that claimed that they are very competitive online with wheel but none of them shared what wheel they have (G923, G29 are probably the worst for FH5) and what settings they use. Also it’s unclear to me if they managed allround competitive or just A and B class road racing.
If someone is competitive online at offroad racing with wheel i would be interested to know what settings and which wheel they have.
What you say is true and my main gripe is the landing after bigger jumps in cross country racing. The bounce this can generate can be countered by a single input on the keyboard but with a wheel it often is impossible to counter it and you’ll veer off uncontrollably. No matter what input you make the car will simply finish what ever the game thinks it has to do. Nothing, and I really mean nothing, can change that. The only thing you can do is wait until the car has done what it does and continue from there. This was actually even worse in FH4 where basically every jump resulted in that behaviour but it’s still present in FH5.
I haven’t looked at any tutorials in that relation for Forza and just played around with the settings until they finally suited my driving. I’ve a G29 and have set the deadzones to 0/50 for example. So I’m far from using the 900 degrees my wheel is capable of. From center to full lock I have slightly more than 90° but I’m rarely going full lock in races. Especially on asphalt it simply doesn’t makes sense. With a wheel this will only slow you down which doesn’t seems to be or at least much less the case for pad and keyboard users.
I’d say I’m somehow competitive with a wheel in the overall picture at least on asphalt and offroad but having taken part in the Jezza’s “Rivals Challenge” I noticed that there are people who can beat me by 10 seconds and more which is a lot for the relatively short races we’ve in this game.
Noone in this game pretty sure u can beat everyone with controller/keyboard… They have to add some assist or whatever in Horizon. It simply doesn’t work even on some asphalt tracks. It makes sense in Motorsport to spinout after leaving the track or whatever but not in horizon. On some asphalt tracks u have spots where the frontwheels are more in air and it simply “ignores” your input on the wheel but somehow with controller u do not even notice it just steers. Same with rain, tried some events from freeroam but it’s wet atm and so hard to deal with it using a wheel.
I mean yeah they improved the wheel input in FH5, it’s playable if u stay on road and to some extend on dirt in freeroam. Rivals with “best case scenario” is pretty solid with wheel i’m only .5xx faster with controller.
Anyway FH is bad “showcase” for playing with wheel. F1, Dirt2.0 or even ACC is doing better fh4 was not fun. And all the settings stuff… Normal person gets console/pc and some beginner wheel and starts the game. There is no lets fiddle with all the settings for hours to make it work… And the most used wheels like g92x should work out of the box. It’s something different with some 23-40+nm wheelbase, u know u have to fiddle with settings or the wheel “kills” you
U can’t trust horizon with the random stuff that happens
Yeah these people
Was doing “Custom A” back in FH4 with ziperrPL and insane how fast he was with keyboard 8+ seconds. Or Jezza (think he is on controller) tried to beat some time and it feels like he just ignores the whole track and is gone. Some people there play on wheel and can do fast times in rivals. But it’s rivals and you can do lots of runs until u hit the “perfect” one…
It’s more fun for me to jump in some random car with random tune or stock and play…
Coincidentally that was the next issue I was going to discuss.
The inconsistent jumps and landings with a wheel on off road are uncontrollable.
The metrics/mechanics of the off road jumps seem to be contrived in a manner that induces uncontrollable landings, or arbitrarily causes landings that end uncontrollably.
It seems to be a difficulty metric programmed in the game, that can be overcome when playing with a controller, not so much with a wheel.
You realize those games are Simulation games and that is why they handle so much better.
Motorsport will handle far better than Horizon does because it’s more Simulation than Arcade game. (although still more arcade than say, ACC for example). It’s not really an apt comparison to complain that Horizon doesn’t handle like a Sim because that isn’t what Horizon is.
Thus all you can really do is compare them to themselves and or other games in market that are like it.
And thus far, in my humble opinion having played all these games, Horizon 5 has the best physics and support of the group for wheel users.
Doesn’t mean it’s done perfectly, because I do agree with a lot of the gripes I see about using them.
Off-Road races yes; possibly the worst. And yeah, the Ai and keyboard and controller players are often faster - but we’ve discussed why this is the case when as a wheel user, I MUST tune for handling.
Anyway, the gist of OP’s post was that they were having issues even completing the single player portions of the game and advancing the stories, not necessarily playing online - so veering into that is sorta pointless to this discussion. Again, all the bad implementations, and goofy physics aside, the game can be played successfully with a wheel. I’ve even figured out how to tune my cars for those stupid ‘falls from the sky’ jumps in off-road races.
Do I have to restart some times? Have there been times in the past when I’ve reached for my controller to complete a task? Do I get frustrated and fed up by the glitches some times? Sure.
I still go back and do it, and get it done.
Anyway, I see a lot of lips moving, but I notice that I have no new tune downloads, so… no one is even bothering to try, so how would anyone know?
Not promising to make you a world #1 , but if that is what you think it is you need in this game as a racing game and exhibition of driving skill - that’s sorta like bragging that you’re the biggest kid in the ball pit at Chucky-Cheese. Some of you need to just relax, and have fun… this isn’t a serious game, and it’s easy.
So it should be harder in these not in Horizon…
Motorsport and Horizon use same ForzaTech engine… So Horizon is not simple Arcaderacer thats why i can’t compare horizon with nfs or thecrew… (not even sure if these 2 support wheels)
Maybe another bug with the counterthingy ![]()
I can try some if i’m able to find them… Normally i know wich names to look for or it shows tunes from friends in front.
And you wrote:
![]()
Edit: I’ve put your name from here in and it says “Found nothing. Change your search…” you shared them?
On liveries it shows something with your name but not on tunes.
Ok seems tune search always uses the car im in but found a way to see your 60 tunes for cars noone uses
“Rally Lambo” for 570s McLaren maybe better names… anyway i’ll try one of it later
Edit2: Ok compared 2 tunes some random sitting already in my tunings idk downloaded years ago and your tune for the acura nsx. Was doing 20 runs with your tune and wheel but idk…
Was doing 1 run with the other tune+wheel to set some time and switched to your tune+controller.
Right side is your tune beating the other+wheel
Left side is the other tune+controller beating your tune+controller… Your one has way more power but it’s not used and it has “no” brakes.
Not bad for random tune with 1 try on controller doing #6906 on leaderboard…
That particular car is not the proper to decide if someone makes good tunes or not since it’s one of the worst S1 cars in the game. And since your tune doesn’t have aero it results that the car doesn’t corner at all which makes it a pain to drive.
There was not a lot to choose from… And in the end it doesn’t matter it’s the same car! It’s not his tune on that car and using other car to compare…
And yeah aero makes all the difference sometimes it makes u slower ![]()
I’m curious now. If I would make tune for NSX, would you test it?
I’m on keyboard and wonder how a tune that works for me (and controllers) would feel on wheel.
If yes → any parts preference?
Yeah give me something to play
Don’t care about parts just tune for you…
Someone msg’d me on xbox after reading here and shared some tunes… I rly love them so easy to drive doing horizon track since 30minutes with car that feels like train on rails. I like it…
I tried myself a tune with slick tires, full aero, roll cage and it was smooth to drive but painfully slow as someone can guess.
Sadly some cars are so bad that there is no saving for them. Porsche 911 Singer for example or Aston Martin One-77 etc
Ok, so tomorrow I will try to cook something.
I appreciate all the work.
To OP’s point again, I play on highly skilled, I’m not a great tuner, and use cars no one uses and I have no issues at all doing what OP wants to accomplish - being competitive in the progression of the game at a level higher than novice.
If I can do it, so can OP, and so can anyone. Really my point.
I’ll work on more tunes I guess… I have all the cars and I always try to take the cars less used so.
Yeah sure why not if people get feel for the game it’s not a big deal.
Go for it and give the tunes proper names so much easier for other people. And try to max the PI, i know an 797 can do better than 800 but people look at the numbers. And don’t get me wrong your tune was doing good (1%), the steering was fine but it needs brakes to be fast. All the power u added was never used (topspeed) so use it on brakes. Easier to just drive and test the limits than constantly fighting with the car.
NSX doesn’t have brake upgrade so likely would have to add Aero to make it stop better?
To me that is what it feels like it needs as I drive it again (been ages honestly)
Also: I forget I don’t share a lot of my tunes because I don’t think I’m good at it, however almost all my cars have a tune on them. Hence the offer that if someone has a car in mind, holler.
Chances are I have a tune on it, I just need to share it out.
Also, as an experiment I decided to remove tuning from the question entirely, and did the Monthly Rivals in the new '22 M2 Coupe. Top 3% time in a stock car on my wheel. (I don’t have a controller handy any more to see if I do better or worse with it.
