I went with vintage white wall tires due to them being more PI efficient. Gave me room for weight reduction.
Might regret that if the second race is a handling circuit.

I’m probably going with the Jaguar E Type but also liked the 250 California and 2000GT.

I’m liking the Miura but the Dino got to the front faster

white walls are already the handling compromise, riviera is a full on sprint, it’ll be dominated by stock tires and powerbuilds

There will be a lot of wall riding if they’re using stock tire power builds and I’d predict vintage white wall tire users will win out in the end.

I have to agree. That first corner on what is normally the speed zone gets people every time when they don’t have any handling. I don’t think you can adjust alignment enough for grip to take it with the slidey stock tires. White walls would be proper, or even street tires .I notice caos’s build used streets. Running the 2000 with streets and putting more power didn’t give me any extra time gains. The increase of 3 mph with a weight reduction gave me about half a second because of the sprint…but due to the lack of brakes it actually counteracted it. Such a touchy course.

I’d say anything from the DB5 upwards is fine for Riviera, 911 + 250 Cali meh, bottom 3 not really surprising given they start in low D class and top 5 in particular very good and should still be strong on whatever the 2nd/3rd races are, only used them once here but drags may be a worthwhile option for the Trial itself if you can tune a car to run well with them, providing that at least the 2nd race is a suitable course though.

Changed both of Bedlam’s tunes out to my own because they aren’t available to download anymore, might share the 2000GT on Thursday but not sure yet, I’d expect a near identical build to mine to already be shared by that time so there’d be little point.

the only reason to use white walls is the second race

not even knowing what it is, Riviera is the most all-out sprint in the game. white walls has to be paired with no weight reduction to stay competitive, or you can go lighter with stock tires to restore the handling, with the same engine build

I don’t think it will matter against the awful Trial AI and much of the FH community aren’t much better at driving.

Giving the forza community at large cars with better handling…is a true gift lol.

there’s a very real chance people won’t be able to catch the AI. this is one of the only races I say that about

has anybody actually tested vs unbeatables?

I can only beat them by 6 to 8 seconds. Problem is as you said…it’s a sprint…but the AI on unbeatable take that first turn without slowing down like we do. They gain a second or two in the front…requiring speed on that first leg before the 90 degree turn.

I set a blueprint up and only a couple could pull away with several seconds on unbeatable.

I forsee the vast majority getting beat by the AI on Riviera.

If there is a circuit then this whole Trial is going to be a mess as the cars tuned for Sprint will be hopeless for Circuit and vice versa.

that’s why I’m saying white walls is correct, it’s the best option to balance between Riviera and possibly a circuit.

Chihuahua or Tierra Pròspera would be worst case scenario, and are both on the horizon tour with Riviera so…

Previously some experienced tuners have stated that if you’re testing cars using a blueprint, setting the difficulty level to unbeatable won’t mirror what will happen in the actual Trial. Expert or Highly Skilled may be more realistic. Having said that if none of the humans have managed to overtake all the AI in the early stages of The Trial, there are instances where the AI seem to get an extra boost.

I’ve not yet looked at TGM’s update but my Top 4 from his previous recommendations all have very similar finishing times. The 8 Litre Bentley on Rally tires was the most fun to drive and finished 6 seconds ahead of the AI but I don’t think I’ll be using it. At the moment it’s going to be the M-B 300 SL Coupe or Toyota 2000GT which both had good handling.

if your tune can’t beat unbeatable drivatars, you shouldn’t share it

i always forget to mention this, but in my opinion it’s important to use a blueprint with the correct season, instead of rivals

edit: for tuning the trial, I mean. for just testing tunes relatively to each other, it doesn’t matter as much

I’m gonna do some trial testing today, this is an interesting one

Here’s what I had in my garage, and the spot in the race that I took the lead, and the general stats:
