given that we have not heard a single word about FH6 yet, I would assume that we have a longer gap to release than with FH4>FH5 but if they did end the new content at 40 then at least do it at 42 so I can make a “so long and thanks for all the fish” joke
Seriously though, development times seem to be getting longer and longer as the number of staff across MS studios gets less and less so I do think we have at least another 12-18 months before release and maybe another 12 months of new content
Long long test once again, not a surprising winner but some pleasant surprises afterwards, the '09 M5 in particular, managed to get something from nearly every tuner on the forum in here, thankfully my mind worked much better driving the course than it did finding the bugger (thanks once again to Burrito for clearing my brain fog with it) as that RS4 time is also currently the fastest Super Saloon on the whole board.
I’d recommend anything from the cars/tunes between 2:41-2:45 here apart from maybe the Infiniti, quick but not great cornering grip due to being on Street tires so needs quite a bit of controlling especially through the Guanajuato section, not worth the hassle when you can go substantially quicker with much less difficulty.

Coincedence…I have the RS4 06 on the road right now tuning it lol. Ran a 2:45 with it earlier and it drives so nice. Thanks for all the time…1M coupe and Link are the other two for me this week. They really love super saloons…I think in another 6 months we will have them all perfectly tuned for any kind of race.
I’ve kind of had my fill of super saloons lately. Not going to share any Audi’s and only one BMW, the 1M Series Coupe, which got the best time for me on Las Afueras.
I’ll share the rest of the Super Saloons because they don’t feel quite as oversaturated in tunes.
I feel like this first track could be tough for teams that don’t have experienced players since it’s not one we see often, and most players are probably unfamiliar with it.
I can see people overcooking it into Guanajuato and missing braking points for certain corners.
Recent street Trials haven’t had any AI traffic so it should be interesting to see if this one follows that trend.
I agree. It has some tough corners…and for the most part people have the hardest time tuning turn ins as of late especially. My favorite section is the last part. It’s a real challenge to keep the speed on the curvy roads and hit that last spot over 130 mph or so onto the straight. I for one could do without super, retro, or any other saloons for the remainder of this year.
Been running a lot of cars the past two days. Including the list from GM…for the trial. The ones that surprised me from my own tuning has been the new jag and and the polestar. I literally came half of a second slower with it than my RS4. I tuned the rs4 06 myself…because mars tune lacked any turn in/or it was very very tight for my controller play. I can’t wait to see some of the vids on youtube though. This track always has some nasty carnage. First time I ran it…I flew off that right cliff lol.
Can I just ask, what is the point of posting those times?
Surely the important thing is not so much the race time, but the margin of victory?
In my testing for any event, I have noticed that it seems like pretty much every car wins by a certain amount of seconds, every time, almost regardless of the tune, and by tune I mean fully tuned. In my case AWD, setup for automatic gears.
An example this weeks Tulum Trail, 6 AI, Unbeatable, i tuned and tested around a 100 cars, most of the cars would end up in the 2,41 to 2,45 area, almost all with a margin of 11 sec.
The strange thing is that of the cars within that range, there were a few cars that won with 2 sec more or 2 sec less.
Leading me to believe that there are some cars where the rubberbanding is less powerful than with others.
Like the bone shaker 2,33, with a margin of 10 sec, while the Limo did 2,45, with a margin of 12 sec, and the difference in margin remained the same if I slowed down.
So yeah i believe that the margin of winning is more important than the race time…
the point is that it’s what we enjoy doing. look at @TheGillesMuller rivals times, he’s one of the best judges of a car’s performance in the entire game.
relative performance between cars, almost sounds like the whole essence of the game. pretty simple.
I’ll just say much respect to @TheGillesMuller for taking the time to do these tests & posting the results solely to support the group here.
Thanks Gilles; it’s appreciated.
It is to demonstrate what the cars/tunes are capable of and help people make a more informed decision whether that be on using those same tunes or having a go at tuning the car themselves, based on them all being ran in the one place where circumstances are as equal as possible for every car, and with the assists I use it means theoretically at least that all those cars/tunes are capable of the same/better pace for the vast majority of players, and with native AWD cars it almost always means they’re capable of better since auto often suffers from shift penalty on them.
I could explain to you in needlessly long detail how I view the Trial event itself now but these explain it better than I can…
Anything to do with the AI in races is a stage I went past caring about long, long ago when they can still be beaten when I’m being as ridiculous as this with my car choice.
It’s huge. As someone who aims to design content, it helps give me a shorter list to focus on. Will the average user see this list? No. But the forum users will, so it might influence them. And while some people might just grab whatever will qualify, if I manage to get a decent cross section of the “top tier” of cars then perhaps I’ll at least be appealing to the class of players that’s taking the time to look for the best performing cars.
The alternatives include doing a livery for all of them (laughs and twitches nervously) or just picking at random… maybe trying to figure out ones that have been prizes recently. (That last one isn’t a terrible thought, actually.)
Anyway, I definitely appreciate @TheGillesMuller for his work and hope he’ll continue posting his results.
the bottom line is, we do it because it’s what we enjoy. just like everyone else. I try not to critique other people’s fun in this game. it’s just not valid to crash this thread and be a know-it-all. you’ve entered the wrong room, sir! lol
