Destined to be on the won’t fix or by design list soon.

Apologies but I am just not up to testing all the cars for the Trial and this is the best I could manage, used 4 from the Carretera Trial in the previous series and 1 non-European car that was quickest in that A class 86 vs BRZ Trial from further back.

A Modern Sports Cars (AOM Circuit)

BMW Z4 '08 (HLundh) - 57.641
Subaru BRZ '22 (Romie777) - 57.950
Lotus Exige (Nalak28 ā€˜AWD Bot’) - 58.158
TVR Griffith (ShaggyScroll660, drags) - 58.375
Eagle Speedster (haulmarc) - 58.625

I appreciate your testing. If nothing else it helps me figure out good candidates for liveries to do (assuming people are choosing based on performance… which is probably a tad optimistic on my part).

Fortunately @x_ShadowsBane_x had dropped some suggestions earlier on that very much lined up with your list. Plus… it’s a popular category so I already have a bunch of existing designs. Should have a lot of options for this week.

I have ran most of the cars (not interested in the mazda’s)…for me it was the Audi tts…first tuned by mustuff…but I took the car added more handling and it gave me the best time. This week has been kind of fun. I usually just mess with rally cars lately…so working these trials on circuits and roads has been good for future races as well. Only car I really was disappointed was is the eagle…didn’t want to downgrade to sport tires…and a sleeper was the alpine 110. Thing gets off the line like carl lewis.

Probably nigh pointless curiosity this but since the Trial has been confirmed any ideas what the name of it refers to now?

I can only think the ā€˜and old’ part might be either that it means the other 2 races will be on the circuits in Guanajuato since it’s an old place like MulegĆ©, or that Modern Sports Cars despite the name does actually have cars that are really getting on a bit now, as far back as 2003 (you know even though plenty of cars in the Retro categories are from 2004, 2005 and in the case of the Tsuru and Santana even 2010 and 2012).

The Eagle Speedster is just such a fun car to drive.

I’d have to say it’s one of my favourites in FH5.

We’ll probably soon find out the significance of the Young and Old. I thought it may have to do with the tracks and I’ve been practicing on the Arch Of MulegĆ© Circuit (Old) and the Aeródromo Sprint (New). For me it’s still hard to choose betwen the TVR Griffith (M0H0M) and the Lotus Exige S (Nalak28).

Arch of MulegƩ went as expected.

Sierra Verde kind of made me a little salty. Had 1st spot on the grid and was going into 1st place at the first corner but a teammate thought it was a good strategy to go full throttle without braking into the corner and T-boned me.
Figured I’ll catch up but then as I’m passing the 4th place player he decided he really needed that place bad and intentionally pushed me out of the checkpoint.

I can bet who pushed you out of bounds lol. That one is always in online doing the same. I gave him the business with my mini a few trials back and I am pretty sure his head exploded.

Anyone got any ideas on the next Trial? I’ve just checked the restrictions available in create blueprint and the only one where the Warthog and Cossie both qualify is American All Stars but that can’t be right, the event’s obviously A class and even without counting the S1 downgrades it’s a staggering 189 options.

It appears to be A Class, Country: USA. (19:51 on the Twitch VOD).

Thanks they both amount to the same thing, was hoping I’d missed something.

Must be the biggest pool of eligible cars since that ridiculous B-X class Trial from near the start of the game’s life.

Well on that basis here’s a shameless self-plug but it really is relevant and helpful, I’ll still test some but there’s no way even I could stomach 189…

The Gauntlet: An A class farewell (or 100 farewells to be exact) - Forza Horizon 5 / FH5 Discussion - Official Forza Community Forums

Any American car with a time up to around 20:10 on there will be a strong choice, the Gauntlet features pretty much everything the dirt courses can throw at you individually.

I was just gonna say this

Oof. Get ready for the boneshakers…

Won’t be anything to worry about unless a top player is driving it, there’s lots of very strong cars available.

Any idea what track is in the thumbnail?

Will have a proper look on the tracks tomorrow to try finding the exact spot but at a quick preliminary guess I’d say either River Scramble or Tapalpa Trail, the trees in the background look from around that part of the map.
