Series 10 info | Extreme E

They used to add unicorns all the time and it was awful… or maybe that was in Motorsport…

Horizon 1 still had unicorns. Didn’t like the concept at all because often it was simply luck to get one.
And they weren’t just different versions of available cars - entirely new ones.
Had an old Camaro and the Elan if I remember correctly. Once saw a guy with a tour bus which was a convention unicorn?

Good that they got rid off the concept.

I think the one thing about the Extreme E I don’t get is why these vehicles are so much more fragile then other vehicles. I was doing the danger sign daily yesterday in the HW area and I had build up a small forza point number but then I hit a road cone on the way to the danger sign and the points fell away like I just smacked into the wall.

The auction system was very different in FM. Those unicorns were hell to get in FM2. Exige Espionage, Lancer Evo TME & Camaro 35th Anniversary edition. Cars people wanted and were useful!

There would meltdowns if social media was as active today. You bought the DLC and cant even buy out or race for them. You had to win the auction.

To make matters worse there was an engine swapping glitch and online rewarded decent money so almost everyone was absolutely minted.

It’s crazy how you lose a skill chain with these junkers. I’ve had a skill chain break just running straight down the road. Or in the air after doing a little jump.

I need to make an Instagram account.

I’m not really arguing that.

If you’re a casual player there’s really not much to criticize. The formula works. It’s ForzaTech rehashed ad aeternum. It feels nice to play and looks pretty. Also, FH is a “comfort game” akin to comfort foods: it’s there for when you have nothing to play and it rewards you by simply driving around.

The problems start when you have to play every week, which is just tiresome, or when you try doing anything other than free roam. The game simply falls apart.

I want the parade floats and busses to drift and race. If there’s a hack, PGG should kill it and open up to solo offline only use. And rivals.
All these cars get same mileage anyway.

Agreed, they’re quick but would still fit in FH’s PI parameters just fine too as I think they were around the S750 mark in FM6, I enjoyed driving them a lot more than I thought I would.

I would like some new official tracks added more than anything else though, other than a few of the street races it feels like I’ve been driving every other course for 9 years as opposed to the 9 months it actually is.

I actually thought/hoped before this series started that was what the ‘new race branding’ was hinting at in the ‘coming soon’ tab of the playlist.

They were in FM6 iirc. Never bought 7 because….

But isn’t everyone a casual player?
Isn’t the whole game a casual game?

Nothing in this game seems to be designed for any level of serious competition and there is barely any content that requires or at least rewards serious dedication.
Maybe I am wrong here, but I don’t see anything that seems ‘hardcore’ in this game.

I get the idea that most of the frustration on this forum comes from people who desperately want this game to be something it is not and never will be.

And this is not a complaint from my side. I think it is a very nice game to play for a few hours every week.

I always gotta laugh when I hear hardcore applied to these racing games in any context. They’re video games. They’re all casual.

As one who has done the real world of racing. If you want hardcore, sell the wife, kids and the house, and go in debt up to your eyeballs. Buy a race car and go racing.

And yeah in my younger “casual video game years” many years after real hardcore racing sucked the money out of me. I had a full racing seat setup with a ps, xbox, and pc and a full complement of the current racing games. Still just video games, still just casual. Race wreck repeat eat dinner repeat. Well, sometimes I’d skip the dinner part. But it was still casual.

Said like a true track dog. Still fun. Gaming ain’t that, jillion dollar rig or not.
I never gamed until I was too sick to drive. Got better for awhile, ran COTA with chemo running in silastic ball thru my port. Lap-pit-puke-hydrate-repeat. Tech puzzled but ya ain’t dead til you stop living.
None of this is serious.

Ran dirt track. 3/8 mile. Wild ride but it costs to compete no matter the venue.

Worth. Every. Cent.
Drifting. LOL 700hp alky > smoke.

My home track. County was trying to shut it down because of neighborhood complaints. He pulled a fast one and got it registered as a historical landmark. Now it can’t be touched!

I have. Can’t recommend it. 24+ straight hours of eye bleeding gaming running on coffee, soda, and fruit snacks. Those were the days. If I tried that sort of thing these days I’d either fall asleep halfway through or die in the attempt.

FM5 had the Renault Spark Formula E as well. …Can we have the Formula Ford whilst they’re at it?

Yea I personally don’t think it’s worth the effort to care too much about it. Maybe if I owned a portion of the company but I just play the game and have fun, the rest is mostly just noise. I’m more concerned with them enhancing blueprints, convoys and bugs vs their marketing tactics

Haha that’s so awesome. I hate when people move near race tracks and then complain about the race track… Happened back in my home town too
