We should have an option to play with only controller players or only wheel players. Its very difficult to stay competitive with controller players on a wheel.
OK, so it is unfair that timings are very much improved with racers that use wheels over joypads. So when matchmaking could we have an option that allows players with the same racing gear to play together? It would make for a fairer race and enable players to know that there are no unfair advantages being deployed.
Cheers, love the game so far and canāt wait for the support to start with introductions of new tracks and races. T10 keep up the much valued work.

i would like to see wheel only lobbies as a wheel user myself , i have nearly been injured
play this game with my wheel ( direct drive 27nm ) when controller players crash in to the back of me.
i would also like to see a radar system like what you have in other racing titles like acc,ams2 and more, the arrow system is not helpful at all and the removal of the rear view mirror as its mostly useless.
How do you get almost injured by playing a game? Is there sensors that make it more realistic?
Yeah In most cases a wheel is going to be quicker WITH very experienced users. & the best of the best will most likely stick to the best platformsā¦ but. Depending on the wheel, there are multiple variables that can throw a sim Racer off. Inexperienced drivers will make mistakes braking slowing into corners not being able to pitch the car. Slowing them down. Rumble strips are just as deadly on wheel haha. Throttle input can also cause mistakes. Spinning out or going off track. Or just not pushing the limits. Thats just a few explanations but it is normally a balanced field when it comes to forza. Ive come across Controller racers who can keep up or even pass up wheel drivers. Inputs & car tuning can make a difference on both sides honestly. Either way. Hopefully your experience is better in the future!!
Unfortunately, you have to divide the peripherals . We cannot compete with pad users, in this game you have a huge advantage. I have tried playing with both peripherals and from pad my times are lower and easier to achieve. Many people are complaining something needs to be done. Pad wuth external view = cheating. My racing station comes at no small cost. if the situation is like this for much longer I think many players will leave the bumper car game and go back to safe places! Example acc
Other games are able to differentiate the difference between a controller player and someone on a different peripheral like a keyboard or wheel setupā¦ I would like to be able to compete with my peers on controller in a more fair and equal race lobby
Every time Iāve been taken out itās by someone using a controller. Wheel users are far more careful and respectful of racing clean and fairly. Most controller users are clearly FH players where ramming is encouraged. We donāt want those types of drivers ruining races and the current penalty system is far too broken to be useful. Give us separate lobbies so wheel users can actually enjoy racing with the equipment weāve spent a lot of money on and the casual controller users can have their fun smashing into each other. Most people play on a controller which means less wheel users and thatās something weāre prepared to accept if it means we no longer are forced into bumper car races.
I also would like this feature.
Keep in mind the total player count is super low right now and most wheel users have probably given up and gone back to iracing/acc/ac/wrc.
Perhaps a bunch of us wheel users should attempt toget together and do some private races?
I tried to do it yesterday and discovered the game has no working cross play PC to Xbox lobby despite it being advertised as capable.
No but the force of our wheels is enough to hurt us when thumb warriors go on a bash. Hence we tend to drive more cautiously as a result when we bash we feel it too.
You can switch off āmirrorā in the graphics/gui settings.
Oh, how?
Can either add the filter option or make separate series.
It would even out the competition.
Have nothing against controller players but it seems that lap times are significantly different on wheel and controller.
It seems that the player base with steering wheels on consoles has grown significantly to the point where it would make sense to cater to this group.
Do you have data to back this up?
Do you have data to back this up?
Do you work for forza / turn 10 studios?
I donāt but I work in the industry.
Regardless, youāve made a sweeping claim and itās normally a good idea to back it up with some proof specific to Forza Motorsport, otherwise the suggestion is based off of misleading assumptions.
This is another bold claim to make that requires multiple data points. At the moment it comes across as an assumption that one control method is āfasterā than the other, without any large-scale evidence to confirm this assumption.
From my own experience (12 months of racing in Featured Multiplayer, competing near the top of Rivals leaderboards, and talking to multiple high-level and competitive players), Forza Motorsport is the most balanced game in the series in terms of wheel/pad performance. Itās equally possible to set World Records and competitive laptimes with both control methods, and any potential performance differences during races are miniscule enough to the point that splitting matchmaking queues would do more harm than good.
Ultimately, Turn 10 have the data, know how many people are split across pad, wheel and keyboard, and know each of those cohorts perform. The fact that matchmaking queues have not been split a year into the gameās release indicates to me that thereās no concerning advantage or disadvantage to driving with either, and that the playerbase doesnāt need to be split.
Like you said, they have the data so they know best. Since you donāt work there Iām not sure why youāre so passionately and emotionally invested into debating against this idea. Itās a suggestion forum, not a debate club. Based on how defensive you are Iām assuming youāre a game pad player.
The idea isnāt to split all racing. The idea is to give the option to for a series or match making filter.
Same way people filter pc / console users, game pad / keyboard users.
You can speak all day long about it being comparable, but no sane person would say that game pad and wheel and pedals with force feedback are comparable inputs. Two completely different things. Like skiing and snowboarding - two different skill sets, both get you to the bottom of the slope.
Thatās a nice assumption, but incorrect.
Thousands of pad hours in previous games but Forza Motorsport finally has āgoodā force-feedback (if you spend the time refining the settings) so am now wheel only. On the podium in almost every Featured Multiplayer race I do, and often very high on Rivals as well.
