Matchmake wheel and controller separately

Matchmake wheel players with wheel players and controller players with controller players on multiplayer lobbies.

Controller players are too jerky on small radius high speed turns and have much more aids natively.

Of course this style of matchmaking may not always be possible if there is limited quantity but it should be priority when possible.

I’m going to disagree as a wheel player. I’ve played enough sims to know that even novice wheel players are dangerous to be around. Open ACC lobbies can be worse than Forza. Wheel and controller players are actually quite close in capability, so i see no reason to split them.

Now seeing who is on controller and on wheel would be neat.

I also disagree.

Pad and wheel can be equally as competitive in this game and I disagree with anyone that says otherwise. For once, there isn’t an inherent pace advantage to using either, unlike in previous Forza Motorsport titles.

But they are far apart when it comes to crash behavior because as he mentioned joypad users have more baked in driver aids.

A minor bump will send you spinning off the tracke 9 out 10 times on a wheel and I am certain joypad users don’t know that. They think it wasn’t anything serious meanwhile I am picking up the race from last position as usual because somebody crashed into me even if only minor.

There is something hard coded into the driving physics which keeps cars better under control during contact IF you use a joypad. And it would be only fair if wheel users get the same safety net.

Maintaining control of a car from bumps on a wheel is more difficult, I give you that. But you do eventually get used to it and better able to manage it. I struggled with it at first too and can understand the frustration, but it barely registers to me anymore I’ve gotten used to it. The only things that take me out anymore would also take out a controller player.

Is your steering method set to “normal” or “simulation” because I honestly find it hard to believe you catch most of it if set to simulation.
50% of the bumps which send me off the track are impossible to catch you are just gone and out. From what I`ve seen so far because I sometimes play with a joypad there is something which pulls your car straight and back into your initial way of travel after contact. Occasionally it looks very unnatural with your car snapping back in place and little to no input on the stick actually.

At the end of the day it is an unfair advantage since apperantly we agree there is something beyond the regular driver aids which saves your car on a joypad?

I think racing would be much improved if only Racing Wheels were allowed in a race or Game Controllers but not mixed? FM 23

Sorry
