I like to race cleanly with no assists (mostly with C B and A cars, as they seem the most real to me). There’s no online hopper lobby for this.
I missed several versions of the Forza title due to not getting an Xbox 1 until recently. Because I only enjoy driving games with a wheel it was going to take a fair investment to get racing again. Recently I spent the considerable amount of $$ it takes to get an Xbox 1, the Forza 7 game and a decent force feedback wheel. What I enjoyed most about Forza 4 was the online play and I made many friends in the social environment of the online game. I was looking forward to a similar experience…
In Forza 4 the user created lobbies were invaluable for people like myself who enjoy competing in a sporting and friendly but competitive way. There were unlimited creative ways one could set up interesting races and scenarios (racing though traffic, racing against traffic, several car classes running in the same race, etc, etc. The real beauty was that like-minded people looking for races would find your race and join in respecting the rules of the game. They didn’t have to already be friends, or be specifically invited. I made many friends meeting sporting players who joined my lobby.
The endless bumper cars and unchanging short circuit format of the Forza 7 online hopper lobbies is frustrating and pointless. Damage is off, so most drivers seem to just smash everything out of their way - no consequences to their car. They have stability management and traction control on and they stay the course, while my no-assists car goes spinning off the track, never to catch up. Usually this happens in the first corner no matter how hard you try to avoid it. I like to tune my cars and drive without assists. The online lobby seems to be heavily geared towards a very arcade-like version of the game.
Could we at least get some online hopper lobbies with damage on for people who want to race realistically?
Can we please support user-created lobbies accessible to the public again?
Leagues have included sim-damage options for several series now. I think it might be a regular thing.
Clubs seem to have lots that say “no crashers”, “friendly competitive”, etc much like what you’re describing. You may find one to your liking.
That said, I haven’t joined a club myself as my weekly schedule doesn’t seem to line up neatly with a club, and I don’t want to join one and then hardly ever show up to race.
Unfortunately turning damage on doesn’t fix the problem, it just means that more people rage quit after their car is totaled.
You just need to look for a nice organized private league. My suggestion is to find a mid-sized one. Big ones often have a lower standard of driving because there are just too many people to police, and smaller ones mean it’s harder to find someone that is about at your level to race against.
I know there are many Forza Clubs but can I recommend FACR (fast and clean racing) I just joined recently and it is a very freindly group, loads of different events going on, a different hlc every week, racers of all different levels, some of the quickest in the world in fact but most like me, bang average who just like to race clean. People also post up when they are randomly online, I raced in a championship just as a one off and was more than welcomed for that just one night and it also has a pretty lively Facebook page.
Clubs??? Sounds like just want I need. I spend most of my time in the “sim league” because at least there are penalties for smashing into someone. Where to I find these clubs? FB? TORA? Racers Lounge? Anyone have any suggestions?
