Seriously. People. Online play is an absolute [Mod Edit - Hieronymus (Simulated profanity removed)].
I take this seriously. I play this game for the love of cars and the love of racing - and some of the things I’ve seen online are despicable and many of the online players should be embarrassed for themselves. I realize this is a game but for some, this may be the closest they ever get to a real race track racing against real people. You’re ruining it for those people.
I race with all assists off minus the driving line. I beat Pro drivatars handily but don’t want to move to unbeatable because, well, most of the time I want to relax a bit. All that, and I’ve won ONE online race. One. Why? Because I was lucky enough to be at the front of the grid and when the race started, and because of that, no one was able to wreck in front of me, no one was purposefully spinning each other out in front of me, and no one was trying to bump me on a straight just for kicks and giggles. I was able to stay out in front the entire time and not deal with any of this sophomoric BS.
If you’re a beginner, PUT IT ON THE EASIEST DRIVATAR SETTING AND LEARN HOW TO PLAY THE GAME BEFORE YOU GET IN EVERYONE ELSE’S WAY ONLINE.
Everyone else? No excuse. Zero. You’re trolls and everyone hates you.
Turn 10:
I realize that you have limited control over this, but could you please, in some future update, add beginner lobbies for newbies (who want to race something OTHER than C class cars), Pro lobbies for people who are actually here to hone their skills while racing actual people real-time, and troll lobbies for all the trolls?
This, I’ve been known to post up videos of the horrors I encounter but most of the time it’s a good challenge and whether the challenge is going as fast as I can or just surviving it’s fun.
If I’m in the top half of the field I’m happy given I don’t run LB cars and the last forza I played extensively was 4.

I also want to add, for the sake of being positive, the game itself is simply phenomenal. Driving is great, visuals are great, menus are great, car and track selection is great (though I’d love to be able to play Fujimi Kaido, Camino Viejo, and Maple Valley on XB1 :P), etc. This is my one single sore spot.
Also, there are a lot of great drivers online, so thank you for those of you who try your hardest to keep it clean and enjoyable. But sadly, when there’s 24 on the track, all it takes is 2 or 3 inexperienced drivers and/or trolls to ruin the experience for those of us that care.
Ive come in 1st and 3rd and 7th and 16th, all of my experiences were enjoyable to some extent. I get some kicks from avoiding crashers and corner bombers, even if it means not coming in first. You have to learn to enjoy running the cleanest you can, no matter how others are driving around you. This game is beautiful, don’t let others ruin it for you, do your thing and enjoy what you can
why can’t T10 setup the lobbies which allows you to enter based on you driving. Simply profile folks racing in all modes such as career and rivals… take the leaderboards… for example. use there laps times to earn stripe/online levels. These will then allow you in the respective lobby… if someone finished many LB runs in top 100 let only racers that can do the same into the lobby.
The problem with this is that the 2 trolls ( who I haven’t seen on FM6 yet ) who terrorized FM5 and copied kryptic’s and duderinos gamertags, those 2 trolls were vary capable of running top leaderboard times.
I’ve yet to play online, but I remember the horrors of F5 (which is where I started with the series)
Where I’m confused, is why they (M$ and/or Turn 10) don’t do what that other Microsft Franchise (Killer Instinct) does with people that ruin it for others online with the rage quitting. After so many rage quits, you get put into a lobby with people that play and behave like you do and you stay there until you clean up your act depicted via your online behavior.
Surprises me, because this game, imo, is more serious than Killer Instinct, that feature should had been a given here.
Maybe Turn10 should reach out to Iron Galaxy Studios to see how they can about adding it.
I raced almost 100 laps online, and havent experienced much of this crashing. I see several posts about this, and besides an accident or two, theres mainly clean racing in lobbies Im in. Can it be that Im placed in a “clean racer” room online because of clean driving on other Forzagames?
I don’t find it too bad, there are some races where it is a complete crash fest, other races are absolutely clean, and I have been involved in some legitimate racing incidents (usually involving a puddle).
I am not having an issue with online play, but I come into it prepared to be rammed in every corner.
It is partially t10s fault. There are only freaking 2 or 3 laps and 20+ cars on the track. This forces people to race aggressively and hope for the best. There is no time to fight for position when the race is over as soon as it began. Seriously, we need races not these quick sprints.
An increase in lap count would help to an extent (spa in the rain in R class in the rain was 6 laps last night) but trolls will be trolls no matter how many laps you give them.
I had a great time racing online solid for 4 hours last night and on of the best things about it was not once Sid the same track come up. Yeah there were some horrible smashes but that’s par for the course on any new Forza at launch.
For me, my biggest Gripe with the online is running in the pinnacle leagues, as you would expect which names I am racing with. my problem is the amount of idiots who seem to have gotten into this league somehow. the Majority of racers within Pinnacle are clean, (especially when Mechberg is in lobby) but somehow there is a handful of people in there who in my honest opinion should be in bottom divisions, as all they seem to be doing is crashing others. We kick them out of the lobby, and guess what - they join back in.
Come on guys, you are meant to be the best of the best in Pinnacle, so why do you need to crash everyone. please review reports about these people turn 10, allow the Pinnacle to be the Pinnacle not “the pinnacle destruction derby” with only about 400-500 people in the league, we know who these crashers are. please deal with them T10
A lot of people who are in pinnacle got there because they used the glitched mini in last week’s no collision D class league.
There was one guy that was 2nd in the B class rankings that only used the mini. He’s vanished from the top now due to not being able to use his glitched tune online.
Pinnacle will clean up in a bit as more accurate data is gathered.
For example, last night the racing was real good. There was one Spaniard in an S2000 that had a bad habit of forcing his way through to preserve is top 20 ranking, but that was it. I was impressed.
