They simply dont have a way of letting you edit it after-the-fact, regardless. Evident by the fact that you cant even edit it before publishing it, you have to completely redo it if you’re not happy with it. It’s quite clear that the Rewind-to-redo-last-checkpoint thing is really their kind of ‘hacked’ way of getting any sort of ‘redo’ functionality at all, and even that’s pretty lousy, especially with the way Rewind works(keeps time while editing a checkpoint, for instance).
Seems a pretty safe guess this whole Route Creator was a relatively late addition to the idea pool for the game. Doing it in an even somewhat ideal way probably would have required figuring this in from the start and restructuring many aspects of the game to break from the fairly established(reused) formula they’ve gone with up til now. Another major downside of the short two year development cycle.
I’m not sure what you’re trying to ask here? you can select the route you want to use when you make a blueprint. you get the option after choosing the car restrictions.
You can’t go back and edit or change the actual routes you’ve created, but if you create a new blueprint from the same starting point that your route was made from, you can change the car and class restrictions and all that, and have those new settings paired with your existing custom route. You just have to choose it from the “Route Select” menu choice, right next to the “Car Themes” one. This makes a new blueprint separate from your original one.
The route creator is fun. More fun than I thought it would be and I actually got a few people in Horizon Life to join my races.
The only complaint I have is not being able to go back and tweak an event once you save it. Sometimes while testing the track you realize you could have done better with flag placement or just the line you took in a certain area. Other than that I say Bravo Playground Games.
LOL, let it be known that on day one of RC I created and have since deleted a 9 mile long “gentlemans sausage” complete with 2 very long apex corners at the southern end of the circuit. Hmmm, cuss words will need to be cursive script and probably a sprint race
Also, the only way I have found to delete a course I have made, is to make a new course, test it, when it comes time to save it, move to the course i want to delete, and delete it. If there are more than one, I can only remove one at a time. I then exit out to cancel the course I made so as not to save that one.
If there is a simpler way, I am not seeing it.
Going to re make the one I want to keep, but slower, and straighter, so the IA’s don’t fly off the bridge into the reservoir again. Though it was funny, they follow your path you take deliberately,
Go to the location where you started the route, choose solo >create blueprint, choose any car theme, then in the route select screen highlight your route and delete it (x button by default). It will give you a warning that it will also remove any blueprints using that route.
It could be simpler (should really something in your creative hub menus imo), but it’s way easier than creating a whole new one to overwrite the old one.
You are right, the route is gone, so I can not use it again, but the Blueprint still exists in my Creator Hub, but when you go to the location of the race it does not show there. So I went there from my hub and just did the "checkpoint loop fail " i thought i removed. Still there, AI’s still get stuck (if you try it, persist pushing forward, after 5 resets or so you will get past the checkpoint loop) in fact on this race, some of the AI’s started making it through, 30-40 seconds behind me.
I’ve been trying to make a large scale rally race that covers most of the map. The first time I tried to create it, I ran out of checkpoints 2 hours in. This time, I finished making the race, but only a few checkpoints before the finish line it says I’ve missed a checkpoint even though I very clearly have not. Therefore, the race I just spent about 2.5 hours creating has to be abondoned…
It’s a shame that there isn’t a good search option available, I would have thought that would have been on the top of the list, right now it’s extremely tedious to find tracks. I cant even find tracks from people I have on my friends list let alone tracks I’ve seen on Reddit. Unless I’m missing something and not doing it correctly a better search mechanism needs to be added ASAP.
It is so nice to have the all new Route Creator but we should be able to choose a starting point of our preference and create the event from scratch be able to choose what tipe of race or event we want to make if is Drag, Dirt Series, Road Race, Drift and so on and we should be able to see the map while we are doing our route so we can do some nice events for our friends to have fun and share with the community this is my 2 cents on this matter it is nice but we are short of tools to really make our events even more personal. Thank you for an awesome work with Forza Horizon 4 we are just looking forward to make it even better.
Every time I crate a race, there is always something wrong with my checkpoints or finish line. The first time I used route creator, I apparently ran out of checkpoints and was unable to make a finishing line, most of the checkpoints that I needed to go to next would display the missed a check point message when its right in front of me. I have been unable to successfully make any races because of the checkpoint issue. This also messes up the AI’s since they will get stuck between a check point and will never be able to get to it since its not computing with them. I have tried making the route shorter, with less check points, more check points and in different vehicles but nothing changes the way the game registers the checkpoints. If anyone know a way of disabling the missed check point pop up or a way to fix the checkpoints please let me know.
All I’ve been able to do is go to a random starting spot, or specific ones that I’ve seen mentioned online. Instead of browsing the blueprint tabs I’d choose to search, then for the search categories I’d choose to search for new or trending and specify custom routes only.
It’s pretty limited, but it’s like the only way I’ve been able to find and race random custom routes or see some routes that were mentioned online. A better search function would be nice, as would a section in the creative hub devoted solely to custom routes so we don’t have to go to the specific points on the maps to find what we’re looking for. It’s kind of mess since there’s no real delineation from routes and blueprints, they’re tied together. You should also be able to easily preview the route that a blueprint is using before starting the event as well. Point to points will tell you the mileage at least, but with custom circuits you really have no clue how long they may be and what you’re in for. Unless I’m missing that, too?
I’d also like to see some options / filters to show routes beyond just my own in the Route Select screen for custom blueprints. So custom routes aren’t relegated to just the blueprint setups from the creators. Right now you can see and choose your own, but it would be great if you could also choose to filter and see friends+club members and another filter for everyone / all. Surely all this data is living on a server somewhere, they just need to actually shove it into the game correctly so we can actually make use of it. But then they’d also have to add more information to the blueprints, like credit the route creator too, not just the blueprint creator. Similar to how you see the various tuners and painters credits attached to the auction house cars.
I give PG a lot of credit for going for it and actually putting this feature into the game, but it definitely feels tacked on and unintuitive / convoluted as far as actually utilizing it beyond creating routes yourself.
Hi guys. Were do i go to locate my saved Routes. There’s a couple i saved but didn’t crate an event with. I’d like to know where i can find them, so i can start making events with them.
