So I was a big route creator on FH4 and I am loving all the extras in Fh5, I can’t wait to try them all out.
However I was in just making a simple route and I put a checkpoint in the wrong place. I wanted to move it so I hit rewind to remove it then replace it, but rewind isn’t deleting the Checkpoints.
Also when I place the finish line on FH5, I have the option to save my race but not edit it. Where as I did in FH4
The ability to edit courses you have made after you test them. Like its great you can test the track but if it dosnt work properly checkpoints bug out you can go back and edit those parts.
So an ability to edit after test or afterwards, i dont mean change car type weather and all that the actual route itself
Bumping this. Not being able to iterate on a course quickly is a huge waste of time; especially when trying to make anything of quality. Basically expect to make it perfect the first time or start over from scratch, what kind of system is that?
This thread today makes the same point, with a detailed explanation of the changes which would be beneficial. I think the devs would benefit from taking notes here:
I am not a route creator (did one route in FH4) so wasn’t sure what would happen when I made one yesterday…however, I was a little irked when I couldn’t remove a checkpoint. Glad to see it wasn’t just me being an editor novice!
+1 from me. Did a 23 km route today with about 30 checkpoints. during testing noticed one being in a bad place… cannot remove the single bad checkpoint… have to delet the route and build the whole thing again.
Yeah it’s unreal we can edit the event but not the actual route, and even modifying your work in the first try, if you hit the rewind limit you are out of luck.
Even editing the event from your routes is ***** lol. Wanna race ? No, test drive it. Wanna change the car selection / number of laps ? Better test drive it again.
They better fix it otherwise this game won’t be played as much as FH4.
I love the option to be able to create routes with all the standard elements (walls, ramps etc.).
But creating a complex and useful route in just one take is close to impossible!
I’d really need to be able to work on some ideas, test them out and make changes before I would bother other players with my nonsensical creations.
That said: please add a save / open routes option available asap!
And another suggestion:
Make the route (the blue line with the checkpoints) editable independently from editing the objects along the route.
To only have the opportunity to wind back (‘Y’) is not enough.
I’d like to set up all objects along the route and the overall track BEFORE I start optimizing the driving line.
I spent 3 hours with a track, i wanted to save it so i wont loose all my progress if anything happens. I saved it later when i got back on i could not EDIT my route smh… Please add an option to edit the route
Same. Spent hour+ just designing a decent route. Saved it to routes. Asked me if I wanted to publish: nah, I mean I gotta place objects etc. So, don’t publish.
Where’s the route? Apparently gone forever . What is up with this terrible track builder? No edits, no basic route designer to build an event on. Yeah, man, Electronic Arts Racing Destruction Set from like 1984 has a better track editor than this. What happened?
A fix has gotta be coming you’d have to think. Spent a ridiculous amount of time with banked components to a raceway, a la GTAV, only to save it expecting to return to it later. Nope. Wasted hours of carefully lining up banked track components.
Not only that but sometimes you want to test the functionality of a course and then go back and add the eye candy.
I don’t want to try it until they put edit checkpoint in. You would expect things from FH4 to be automatically put into FH5. I know for a fact that I had to edit a checkpoint on all tracks I made in FH4. Often had to go back and delete half the track. Start from this point? Yes please.
Ridiculous that I can’t edit a course I spent hours on. Course is unplayable and all my time is wasted. Definitely won’t be playing until they fix this obvious flaw.
Without setting up a new raceline the AI will be slow because it is not possible to setup a perfect racing line while placing checkpoints and trackside objects. So after I made the track there should a method to change/replace the racing line like after the testlap the system should ask if I want to replace the racing line.
Well here I am again, I have had some great ideas for routes and using the builder option to make it a bit more fun and enjoyable, or fun and have a laugh with your friends.
I have made a route which involves a lot of work with the blueprint builder. I spent 4 to 5 hours doing this on my 3rd attempt and thought I had it perfect. The route was perfect, The way I had it set up was perfect. Went to go test the route and one of my objects I placed is sitting wrong and some “taller” cars hit it and can’t get passed. No option what so ever to go in and just move this object slighlty. Nope you ahve to create the whole route again. I am not doing this a 4th time…
Please give us the option to Test and Edit routes before we save it. Or give us the option to Edit it after we have saved it.
No option what so ever to edit the route or objects and even checkpoiints on the routes is pointless.
Oh and when I was with my friends last night, I wanted to change my route from A-class to S1 but I had to test the route solo before I could play it with my friends. Even though the route had already been tested.
Why change something that already worked fine. (in FH4)
