This has persisted since Forza Horizon 4. The RJ Anderson #37 Pro 2 Truck, and by extension, the Racing 7.2 L V8 engine swap, plays at a drastically lower pitch than real life trophy trucks (by roughly 4 semitones).
In Forza Horizon 3, despite sounding quite ‘robotic’, it does sound closer to the real deal.
