Rivals challenges

This might be one for the feature wish list, but just want to make sure I’m not doing it wrong…

Surely Rivals mode is built to allow us to actually challenge friends. There’s even the Rivals section in the mailbox thingy on the homepage… So why isn’t there (or why can’t I find) a way to send a challenge to someone on your friend list? Lay down a time, send a challenge.

Am I missing something? At the moment my friends and I have resorted to sending texts along the lines of “B Class - Rio full” etc and then going at it over a weekend.

That’s a shame; I imagine the top Leaderboard drivers would actually quite enjoy having challenges laid down when somebody beats their top time.

Non-generic Leaderboards (VIP etc.) don’t interest me because they expire and you can’t add to them through natural play.

My friends tell me they beat my times all the time, yet I hardly ever see a message telling me so

Take part in the special events like the VIP and monthly rivals challenges.

You’d think if T10 actually played their own game, they may have noticed this?

ManteoMax, I have added you a few weeks ago and have beaten a few of your times, even just last night, have you received any notifications of this?

Oh, well that sucks. I’ve been doing Rivals all week since the post-update League Disconnection issue. What a waste of time.

If your doing laps, you arent wasting time. Unless of course you are perfect at every corner,every track every time. I do hotlaps all the time trying to improve

Yeah, as has been said only works on the monthly/VIP etc rivals modes, for the normal classes it doesn’t send a message.

Not sure why as I don’t know anyone who spends much time on the monthly/Spec/VIP challenges.

Which is odd as the category description for each Class-Specific Rivals category specifically states that beaten players will be notified.

In fm6 I have to manually check each class on every track to see if my friends beat my lap time. On forza 4 it was so much more detailed with info on the track, car used, credits you win, and notifications on lap time etc… I do not know if forza 5 is the same as forza 6?

Not sure about FM5 but I got notified in FH2 when a rival beat any of my times. I’d wager it worked fine in FM5 though.

Just another feature that has been silently gutted for an undisclosed reason.

This series is rotting from its core. So many of the pillars we’ve leaned on to build our own way to play the game are gone. I’m not even sure what’s left anymore.
