I’ve already tuned out the twitchy part of the caterham, now trying to get it as stable as I can and not slide out as wide. Improving stability shaved .200s, so I’m at 1:12.682, baby steps…

Thanks, I appreciate that, but my times usually don’t last too long in this group ![]()
Nice times everyone!

I much prefer the look on my leaderboard… not so many names
but great job everyone.
Should be an interesting leaderboard this week with so many choices of car on hand, fun little track too.
Happy cake day Chea!
Great job @Rayne_SE! Excellent time! ![]()
A lot of great times from everyone last week!
I almost won the SVO cup but it looks like @OdEssA_VL slightly edged me out! ![]()
I can’t wait to see what times people are going to get this week. Happy driving and best of luck to all! ![]()
Happy Cake Day!! Best of luck this week! ![]()
Not a big fan of Delorean. I think I like it only as “Back to the future” car ![]()
My tune (full aero + max width tires) - low 1:11 - was positively surprised, but IMO too heavy and lacks out of corner acceleration, there was option to sacrifice some power for 100kg less, can’t tell if it would help much and if it could break into 1:10
with Kapien’s - mid 1:11 - overall better tune, not enough grip for that track (e.g. can’t take first corner flat out)
I’ve also built full aero + max width tires Catherham. Tune is shared → “river09”, SC: 152 858 755.
Did 1:09.7 with it. I’m now surrounded by BoneShakers ![]()
Can’t tell if I prefer 10 or 6 speed gearbox. Shared 10-speed version.
I suggest doing 10-20 laps before going for time, but IMO it is handling not bad.
PS. please remember that tunes that I’m sharing are sometimes made for specific tracks and won’t be good somewhere else ![]()
Will try yours Zip, am at 1:10.470 with Kapien’s for now.
Was ready to scream at that first corner of the dirt section in my session just now, 5 times I was absolutely convinced I had clipped it with the Caterham’s rear only for checkpoint missed to pop up.
EWWWWW that sound: “SCHINCK!!!” when you miss a flag!
My favorite is making it in-between the flag & the tree on the first left bend going full out
Great tune
, set a pb of 11.5 pretty quickly, even though i made a mess of the last 3 corners combo - then promptly rewound back over the start line and dirtied it!
When i can have a bit of time with it i should be able to get in the 1.10s hopefully
The R500 Cat continues to produce improved results for me (I think it’s the Hoonigan livery
) but the gap between where I’m at now & the top 25% for my list is pretty significant, so not sure I can get there. I’m also sure this time won’t last long…
Started with the VW Bug trying to not instantly jump into the obvious choices. It did better than expected and can dip into the 1:11s but the grip and bodyroll can’t keep up with the high-grip track cars.
Sure, it’s Horizon but seeing Dirt always get dominated by track/road cars is sad. There should be a grip penalty when road cars have Offroads applied to to bring them down on rallye/offroad car grip levels.
Final time, 1:09.887 with Zip’s tune.
Would love to go after that auto Willys Jeep time at .592 (assuming it’s genuine) for the fastest auto time on this track but after my session just now that would quite clearly not be a good idea.
This one is a real challenge for me this week. I had a time already set in a BS, just put in about 100 laps and have finally beaten it in Kapien’s Caterham - 1.14.615 ![]()
Nice time & I know what you mean; I’ve been trying (unsuccessfully) to beat my current best time & it’s even more frustrating when this kind of thing happens…
If you don’t mind a bit of backseat driving: instead of trying to cut the left as much as possible, you might try focusing on getting a wider entry into the following right. A better exit from that right should save you more time overall, and changing how you take the left should result in many fewer missed checkpoints there since you can’t really miss the flag if you’re avoiding the tree.
Admittedly I’ve not tried the Caterham (and probably won’t), so I don’t know if that car has some particular trouble with that turn.
Absolutely Bedlam, jump in!
& thanks for the feedback. That actually doesn’t happen that often, but I find it pretty comical at that speed & with that amount of space, that I manage to slip through there without touching the flag.
The R500 Cat is a bit “loose” for me under certain conditions, which is why I’ve pretty much targeted that line. I tried Zip’s tune which handles much better, but I’m used to the accel of Kapien’s tune, so I’ve stayed with that.
Some more I’ve tried;
2013 Dodge Viper GTS. You can de-tune this thing down to A class, install the 10 speed and still get full front and rear tire widths with the heaviest rims (and full diameter rims on the rear. Even though I couldn’t get front aero on this build, it was still decent.
Time: 1:15.778. Might be better for dirt trail tracks.
2020 Lexus RC F track edition. Remarkably easy to drive around this course. Full aero, full tire widths, full weight drop is able to fit in A class. Very smooth and easy to turn.
Time: 1:15.376. Probably better with a little more power and no front tire width.
2008 Subaru Impreza WRX. Well, it’s not dirt rivals challenge without a Subaru, right? Hadn’t touched the hatch yet so gave it a try.
Time: 1:15.108. Could probably get into the 1:11’s for the better drivers out there. Haven’t tried the V8 swap yet.
1986 Ford Mustang SVO. Well, it worked last week so wanted to try it. Usual V8 swapped A class dirt car. Not much more to say.
Time: 1:14.074. Beat my original MX-5 time with this build. Capable of 1:10’s in better hands.
