Reward your tuners!

Forza has a problem. . People use custom tunes, win with them and then don’t bother to take a few moments to vote them up. . Why is this a problem. . Without that vote we get 500 credits but potentially spend millions making them for you.

We can spend anywhere from an hour to more making sure you win your race. I don’t think spending a couple seconds of inconvenience to reward me is too much to ask.

I do custom tunes for people from in game messages or messages on reddit . We get in party chat and I fine tune a car for them. That means I buy the car. AND all the parts which could mean a million credits! Then we could be on a track for 3 hours trying to shave half a second off a 30 lap race and even they don’t hit the rating. My reward if they don’t hit the like button? 500…yes 500 credits

It not cool. If you use a tune and you like it then rate it. Sure I could stop but I enjoy it and I enjoy the sheer excitement in a voice when they take a corner 30mph faster than they could before. I… We don’t ask much?

You do still get 100 credits every time they use the tune. I agree that if someone likes and uses a tune they should actually take the time to like the tune as well. But usages can really add up. I have a power tune for a Vauxhall that someone apparently decided worked great as an A class drag tune. I got hundreds of usages on it at 100 credits each. I can’t even fathom how much money ONR Achilles made from his Mclaren tune this week. I saw so many people using that in Pinnacle. VNR LeeCampbell must have made a ton on his tunes this week too.

If you enjoy it, that’s your reward. I don’t enjoy tuning but have made a few really good ones, which I get rewards for every day, but not much.

Unless you’re featured by T10 or something, you’ll only really be pulling in a couple of grand per day. This game isn’t really set up to make money for tuners outside of the absolute top class ones (or at least the ones who were first in the door…)

There’s a prompt to like a tune after a certain number of uses, so if they do actually like the tune it then you know, they will probably give it one.

It always puts the most recent tunes first when you go to load a tune. There’s really no way to make a good tune and have it stay in sight other than having people win with it in lobbies.

I “Like” a downloaded tune every time on principal. In the event of downloading a tune that maybe doesn’t suit me i still “Like” it before deleting it to show my appreciation for someone else’s effort. Otherwise I either do it straight away, when prompted or I go in to a car and do a load at once if it has multiple tunes downloaded for it

I don’t think most people who tune do it for the credits. Although I’m sure most appreciate a bit of recognition in addition to seeing it all over the leaderboards

I’ve said this before: I wouldn’t be playing Forza if it wasn’t for other people sharing their work. If it’s someone with a garage on the tuners section I’ll post a message or I’ve been known to send the odd PM to tell them what I liked about it and to say “Thanks”

The system is buggy at best anyways.

I have a Plymouth GTX shared that has a few downloads but no registered uses. I have literally seen it being used online by friends so I know it’s inaccurate.

I don’t even bother tracking my tunes for this very reason.

You can make an absurd amount via gaining new levels so making money off tunes ain’t a big deal. If people like your stuff then keep tuning. That’s about the only benefit you’ll get.

Yup… I had half a lobby using one of myour tunes for hours and it said it got used once.
[Mod Edit - profanity and abbreviated profanity are not allowed - MM]

I do remember using that tune the other night… A5yeartech said he count download and gtx at all.

Most are just ungrateful. If they push like, they know it will reward someone else, so they just use and abuse.

In all the “storefront” forza’s, whether it was a tune or a paintjob/vinyl group, I never put a price on anything. Other than 1 or 2 to get the make money in the store front achievements. My thing is that I really wish keeping track of WHAT people like or are downloading in rediculous tedious and cumbersome. Having to get into each car to see download count, I have over well over 50 different drag cars, maybe 100 different circuit cars, all with tunes, most shared. I know many have more than me. I can’t imagine some of the bigger tuners out there with much more than me.

As for the likes, I am always up for some feedback on anything tune or paintwise. A like would be cool, but agaiin, like in the other games, if it was a storefront, they would most likely be free. I build, tune and paint because that’s what’s fun for me. Just hope I’m not peddling crap! Haha

I am relatively new to F6 but I have been tuning since I started. My little bit of knowledge makes a car driveable for me. I share all of mine and have had plenty-o-downloads and few likes. I don’t really care if I get a like but it is nice when you do see it. Just hopefully make the experience a little more fun for my fellow racers. Enjoy!

I made several tunnings, they are not Top notch quality, but still, they can earn me couple of thousands per day. Problem is, I have no idea, which tunning is getting me those payments. Which tunning is most succesfull or so…

The “storefront” isn’t built to reward tuners, as there are no display options other than to sort by date (newest first). As such I find it hard to find good quality tunes from the “Get Tunes” menu, even when following certain tuners.

Instead, I get the majority of my tunes from the Leaderboards, or directly from tuners I know.

That and the Find Tunes “storefront” is still a broken mess. Half the tunes that show up on search (or by default) can’t be loaded and one of them is a mystery tune because it’s blank. (I’m a programmer by day, I’d be fired if there was a bug like this that lasted through 2 versions of a game)

I’ll add you to my followed creators list. What’s a car you’ve tuned to easily find?

I’ve done a handful of tunes myself, I’m still learning. The likes, I agree would be nice, but when you see a tune of yours has been downloaded 5 times and used 100+ times at least someone likes it on some level

In my opinion, the just need to completely do away with the current system in use, and bring back the system used for the storefront in FM4. The can keep the payment system how it is now, but it would make navigating the selections a lot more intuitive. I think the rewards for usage alone isn’t enough, especially for tunes. Tunes actually require spending money, there should be some related compensation for money spent on car and upgrades.

I’m new to the game and have read that I can rate my livery and tunes. However, I have no idea how to do so from in game despite spending a few minutes looking around several days straight at the end of my driving sessions. I have a few I really like and would love to give credit.

If it were important the developers would make this easy to do, more than just the “if you like it you should rate it” pop up that comes up once!

Anyone know where to find a manual for this game? The box had precisely zero instructions. Gone are the days of months of manual study I guess, like Falcon 4.0.

Cheers!

I was using a race tune made by someone else quite a lot and after a race I had a message pop up saying words to the effect of ‘we see you’ve been using this tune frequently, would you like to rate it?’
So the game does prompt a rating after a certain amount of uses but whether people actually do or they just skip the message is another story.
Its the same with paint designs though - I have one that has sold 3300, been used 6400, but only has 800 likes. Thats around 1 in 4 -_-
A Forza 4 style storefront is definitely needed!
