One crazy detail I haven’t seen in this car before, look at the throttle bodies between the rear seats! That’s gotta sound wild!
There exists two Espace F1. Kind of.
There’s this one, usually exposed at the Matra museum.
And there’s this one, owned by Renault and kept at their factory in Flins.
You can tell them apart by the different front bumper and wheels.
You can also see on the Renault example two amber lights on the spoiler, this is because Renault wanted to use it as a safety car for F1. Which was a prodigiously unfeasible idea as it is, ultimately, a F1 with a bodykit and 4 seats, which means it’s not designed to idle or drive slow, and you need a whole team to just start it up.
The other difference is the Matra example has the Renault V10 of the Williams FW15C, and the Renault example has no engine at all. And for a fun fact, the one that appears in Gran Turismo 2, it’s the Renault one, the one that’s the showcar without the engine.
