I own the hotwheels expansion and cant answer this question myself but I was curious about the redline tires in relation to the auction house.
If I sell a car on the auction house with redline tires to someone who does not own the hotwheels expansion do they get to keep the redline tires on the car? (without changing tuning/performance setup of course)
Kinda like in FH1 where you can gift a car with rally tires/suspension/trans to someone who doesnt have the rally expansion.
Just a curiosity nothing more, could someone who doesnt own the hotwheels expansion chime in?
Rally tires were integrated into the main game in Horizon 2 (without having to own the Storm Island expansion). I presume since rally tires (stock in Horizon 3) change over to snow tires when you visit Blizzard Mountian, HotWheels Tires should be cross-compatible. I don’t know for sure, though, because I own the HotWheels expansion. Someone who doesn’t will be able to tell you.
They will be able to use them - they are integrated into the game and do not require the Hot Wheels expansion.
Are you saying they can put them on the car themselves or they can only use them if they are pre-installed on cars they get from the auction?
They can only use them if they are pre-installed. Without the expansion, they won’t have access to them to install them on their own.

Nope - just installed them on my GT HE which I won in a wheelspin - and I don’t own the Hot Wheels expansion. As I said the first time - they have been integrated into the game and you do not need to own the expansion to use them, whether they were installed by someone else or not.

I don’t have the expansion and can use the Hotwheels tires, they are available to anyone.
The only tire compound you need dlc for is the snow tire compound.
