REALLY loving this game, but... (Mystified by some odd omissions)

First time posting on these forums so don’t know any of you yet, but do have some thoughts and questions from what I’ve played so far.

So having not played Forza since the first installment, I picked up 6 a few weeks back and was shocked at how amazingly smooth the racing is. In fact, it’s been so much fun that I went and invested in the Logitech G920 racing wheel yesterday.

The cars, tracks and paint shop are also absolutely top tier. I have had a blast spending hours customizing cars - YouTube and can’t wait to start the next. But for all the greatness that I’ve found in the game, there are a few things that are surprisingly frustrating.

My biggest complaint is the stat and time tracking.

-When I’m at a track, I want easy access to my best times and not just from that session, but all time.

-It’s also frustrating to only have lap times and not full race at least for career mode.

-The lap times that flash while racing could be much more visible. Would be nice to have some customization on how large it shows as well as color of text.

-Why are there no section split times? It would be nice to know what sections your closer to competition in and which you’re losing the most time in.

-Post race it shows our times and where we rank globally/region/vs friends/etc, but it doesn’t show how it compares to our previous best. If I set a personal best on a track, it would be nice to know it.

I started out running standard and am currently using no brake or steering assists and unless I’m missing something, I haven’t found anyway to know how much my times have improved or worsened.

For how long this series has been around and the depth of the actual driving experience, these things seem like no brainers and I’m genuinely shocked at how spartan the stat tracking is.

My other issue is multiplayer. I’ve only tried it a couple of times, but it is the most unintuitive system I’ve seen in years. For starters, I went in having no idea if there were any assists on or not because it doesn’t show you anywhere. My test was whether or not I went flying through the first turn (I did).

It seems that whatever car setup you had before starting multiplayer is what you race with, but why not have an option to setup your car from the actual pre-race lobby? Again, if it’s there, I sure as hell couldn’t find it.

The race I had no brake assists on, I got a track I didn’t know and was hosed. So I ran with it on the next time… Got a track I knew, but was screwed because the leaders all were using partial or no assist, so just destroyed me through turns and there was no way to turn off the assist mid-race.

From the way we’re creating or forming lobbies, why not let us browse lobbies like Gears and Perfect Dark did? It would be nice to start out racing with everyone full assist if we want until we get a feel for live competition and we learn all the tracks. As it stands, I don’t see any way to have everyone running the same assist/non-assist setup.

Also, while waiting for in-progress races to end, I watched their feeds and its odd that players who are just sitting in a corner of the track trying to wreck people each time they go past are able to make contact. They ghost out going the wrong direction, but I saw one dude who’d had the lead, lost it and battled back completely destroyed on the last lap by someone who sat doing donuts the entire race.

If there are solutions to any of these issues in-game that I just haven’t found, I’d appreciate any tips to finding them. Really love this game, just seems it could be so much better with just a few easy to add things.

You can load a tune but cannot tune it in the lobby by load tune.

I would look for ghost lobbies where everyone is a ghost.

Once you’re in the lobby, click to the right and highlight your gamer tag, then click “A”. A window will pop up…Click on Assists and voila
