Finally got a GT 350 fe. It sounds like a broken 2 stroke bike, and I have killer surround. I own a '92 Rausch and a '15 GT 500, and I can tell you now they sound nothing like these. If youre going to crow about realism, then take the extra 10 minutes to plug in the proper sound. These cars are deep, growling and throaty, not something that makes both my surround and myself want to vomit. It would be very nice to see this fixed in the near future since it still hasnt been addressed.
It has been speculated that the high pitched whiny nasal drone of certain cars has in fact been modelled on a select group of forum users and not in fact an engine.
The sound on the GT350 is admittedly not great in game, but to be fair it sounds completely different than your cars IRL on account of it having a flat plane crank and revving to the moon. Don’t own one myself but have some friends that do, they don’t sound anything like most other American V8’s.
If you’re feeling in need of a good engine sound, hook up an '05 BMW M3 with racing cam, racing exhaust and pistons and valves and give that a blast. It rips through the gears to like 10k revs in no time at all and sounds like pure anger. What a lovely engine.
Truth. Honestly I’d much rather they fix the race regulations that have been promised, bring in the physics changes they talked about recently and give the game real wheel support over tweaking game sounds. I could care less if one car is not the exact perfect engine noise as long as the control is right and the game runs correctly.
I think there’s more than one car that doesn’t sound amazing, of course that’s one of the downsides in having such a large car list.
It’s important to note that different developers in a studio do different things, whoever does sounds for the cars probably isn’t going to be doing physics or FFB for example.
I agree. There’s a lot of fixes I’d like to see that actually effect the gameplay. Wish lists are long and efforts to address them are not showing as much as we’d like.
