Racing against your ghost

Appologies if its been asked/discussed but a quick search doesnt show too much on this topic, being able to race your best ghosts would be good too.Mixed classes would be better, for example a low end class c then trying to beat it with a high end class d,if i remember the early gran turismo games were able to do this.Just a thought.

You can race against your ghost in rivals and likely that will still be true in FM7. Not quite what you’re looking for but it’s the closest thing.

You can also go to Free Play and set the Ghosts option to “On” and set the number of Drivatars to zero.

After you complete a lap, the ghost of that lap starts driving around the track. This is useful if you are trying to improve lap times as you can see yourself on the track and it updates the ghost every lap (Rivals does not do this).

I think the ghost feature is pretty weak in forza 6 but its all we have at the moment, like the example i gave in my post, trying to beat your time which you set in a higher class car with a car in a lower class is fun.

You can race against your ghost but it is so cumbersome. I wish you could just leave your ghost ALWAYS ON + the person you are trying to beat. I think 3 or 4 did it this way, and it was so much better to see where you had to improve.

Also, if you are hot lapping your ghost, have him update automatically after the new hot lap… I hate having to go back out and back into the game.

I wasn’t aware of free play, but would be nice if they actually implemented that into Rivals to compare yours + your rival. Having to select your own, then going in, beating it, then going out, then re-selecting yours, then going back in, rinse and repeat.

this is why we need local leaderboards to come back.

Haven’t posted in this forum in years. Just wanted to give this a bump. The old school leader board mode and local ghosts are a couple of the things I miss most from Forza4. In F7 the free play mode is pretty clunky as well.
