I’ve been messing around with the game files and stumbled upon something interesting with the Depth of Field settings. You know those settings are in some files that don’t seem to be about racing, right? Well, turns out, they do impact your race visuals!
Here’s what I did:
- Found
<DepthOfField value="1"/>
in some non-race-related files. - Changed it to
<DepthOfField value="0"/>
.
And guess what? There was a clear difference in the race - the blur, contrast, and sharpness were all affected.
For anyone who wants to try it out, just tweak those settings in your files. Keep in mind, I did this on “Ultra” settings, so if you’re on something else, you might need to dig around a bit in your directories.
I don’t think this was an intentional design feature. It feels more like a bug where Depth of Field settings are messing with parts of the graphics they shouldn’t.
If you try this out, let me know if you see the same changes. Could be a neat little fix for now!
