Not sure how to describe this situation. But when I tried to paint a car and it asked me to save it, when I clicked the Save button, it gave me an error message that I need to delete some of my Save designs. All I am doing is painting cars and NOT applying decals or vinyls to my cars. Just painting and that is it.
The problem if I delete some of my Save designs, all of the cars I worked on will go back to the default manufacturing colors. Is there a way to get around that so I can save as many paint or designs? I did not know there was a limit to how many designs for all the cars.
Here is an example of what I am doing. I have 10 Ferrari LaFerrari cars. And each LaFerrari is in different color (red, blue, silver, black, etc…). So right there I just used 10 spaces in the Save File. Is there a way to save each one of those colors and apply to other cars. I am pretty much repeating the same 10 colors for all of my other cars with different manufacturers.
If you go to under “MY DESIGNS”, there are a total of 256 slots for you paint colors. But I am only using the 10 colors for all of my cars. If there was a way to create a template of 10 different colors for 10 cars. I can use the 10 color templates and apply to any car I want without even using all 256 color slots.
I suppose another solution would be to buy only 1 car of that same model. But you will have to repaint the car if you want your car to look different every time you take it for a spin. It’s kind of repetitive job if you can only have 1 model car and no duplicate car.
With the limit on the number of designs you can have … there is no way around it. If you have reached the limit and want to add another … you’ll have to delete another one first.
The thing is that I don’t have 256 different designs. I just have 10 different designs but I use the 10 designs for many different cars. They should redesign this area so it is a template for each design and you can upload the design to as many cars as you like with any limit.
Because there many different style wheels or rims that looks good on that car. So beside the different style wheels, I also applied different colors that looks good on the LaFerrari.
When T10 made this game, they wanted players to only have 1 model of each car. And if you decide to change color or wheels, you have switch wheels or change color. If that is the case, why have players buy multiple cars from the same model in the garage. They should limit to only 1 model for each car. If you don’t mind switching to different wheels and change colors all day long, then you shouldn’t have problem the way it is configured. I would rather have all the colors I like in the garage and all I have to do is pick the color and start driving. I prefer not to change the color and go switch the style wheels every time I take it for a spin. It’s just faster for me.
Another thing is why did they limit the garage to only 256 cars? Again, they probably did not think players would buy multiple cars of the same model. If they restructure the garage limit to unlimited and the Save paint/design to unlimited, players can buy and save color paint as much as they wish.
It’s the number of liveries that’s limited to 256, isn’t it? The garage is larger (for a start there are something like 340 different cars available). Also, you can save a tune (car rather than music) which will save the wheel choice, spoilers etc. as well as the engine and suspension tune.
Each livery is car specific as you have found. It isn’t possible to apply a livery for one car to another, the vinyls would be in the wrong places, although I understand you’re just looking for a colour change.
Not sure how you can get around the limitation for what you want to do.
Food for thought – you could auction the cars. Set the auction for 1 hour with the starting and buyout prices as high as you can take them. If no one bids, the design will be locked to the car when you reclaim it, allowing you to delete the design from your library without ruining the car. If someone does bid and you lose the car, the high prices you set should allow you to buy and build a new one and perhaps make a small profit.
Obviously, I recommend starting this process with your most affordable / easiest-to-come-by cars because they’re less likely to sell and easier to replace. Don’t try this with your Horizon Editions or other rare cars like the RX-7 from the midnight races because you stand a good chance of losing them.
I had to delete about 100 cars from my garage and in the “MY DESIGNS”. Because there will be more DLC car packs coming, I need to clear out more slots for future cars. It was sad to delete some of my LaFerrari cars and kept the ones I REALLY want.
I now have about 80 free slots in the “MY DESIGNS” folder. I may go back today and see if I can delete more cars in my garage that I really don’t want.
