Question when switching games

I have a question, and I must know before making an action - is it OK to delete Forza Horizon 5 on my Xbox One console and get this predecessor Forza Horizon 4, without having my FH5’s save data erased? I ask this because I cannot have both Forza Horizon 4 and 5 installed on my console because of storage capacity limitations, which is why I have FH5 currently installed and a few other games as well but my console’s space is nearly full and not enough so it can’t also have FH4, unless some space is returned by deleting a game.

But I am concerned, what if my save data in FH5 gets afflicted too, when deleting only the game itself (and if also its expansions Rally Adventure and Hot Wheels) and getting Forza Horizon 4 to start playing? I hear that FH4 is the best, or one of the best, in the series by far. It would also be interesting for me to explore this game’s UK region, as that’s where I’m always living at in real life, too. :open_mouth:

So basically, just curious if it’s really safe to just delete FH5 and get FH4, without progress in FH5 being deleted in case if I want to play it again in the future and continue where I left off. I don’t want to risk doing this on my own without knowing an answer first, otherwise it may cause ALL my FH5 progress to be wiped out and I would regret it, because I’ve done so much in it and like to keep all I’ve done and collected, especially rare cars and cool livery designs.

Cheers and thanks.

Hey there so they are completely different saves for each game for every title in the franchise. I have a save personally for every forza title. I wouldnt worry about it at all. Xbox and Microsoft saves everything to the cloud

Only thing that can result in a save loss is if you decided in the future you wanted to play it on the steam version on pc. As Forza is crossplay but not cross save. Microsoft save and steam saves dont mix. So if you were to play fh5 on pc later through steam your save will be different even though its logged in to the same gamertag, but from what you had mentioned you wont lose any of your save data.

OK, thanks.

You are so welcome! Happy to help

Also keep in mind that if you don’t own it already, you can’t buy a digital copy of FH4 anymore. You can still get a physical copy for Xbox, but you wouldn’t be able to buy any DLC for it anymore, including the expansions. (Unless there was a physical copy that bundled in codes for the expansions, but I’d imagine sealed copies of that would be going for a lot now if it existed.)
