Let us have an option to Qualify in Career. We could either bet on our Qualifying position the same way we already do for races, or you could let us intentionally move ourselves backwards from our original Qualifying result and gain a similar bonus from that.
It would be cool to have a classification before the race, just like in multiplayer.
Even a 1 lap quali would be great
Agree 100%. I am really disappointed to discover there is no qualifying in Builders Cup. I am only interested in single player career mode and qualifying was the one feature missing from previous FM games.
The opt in or out thing makes sense and no(whomever saying you would not have to quilify)you should not be able to start p3 with out quilifying as that not the game. What I donāt get is why even when you get the fastest time can you only start p3, I think do it it right or arcade nit in-between. The online system for racing is perfection all they had to do was use same system in campaign
For free play, it definitely shouldnāt be opt out. Actually, it probably shouldnāt be opt in either.
Ideally, when you are in the event, the menu should show a āstart praticeā button above the āstart raceā button. That way you can choose directly if you want to do practice or not, without having to go through setting menus.
That should go for career too, since you have to start practice first if you want to skip it, which isnāt good UX.
When going to the race, grid placement should default to manual placement, whether or not thereās a qualifying time.
Grid placement should be augmented with automatic placement options: ascending (fastest first), descending (slowest first), touring-style (fastest times in descending order up to half grid, then the back half of the grid in ascending order, e.g. 12th to 1st then 13th to 24th with a standard grid).
Either make automatic placement unavailable if you skip practice, or assume the player has either the slowest time (which could place them either first or last), or the 13th time (which would always place them in the middle).
Random and PI automatic placement options can stay.
The game also has to use the absolute fastest time, clean or dirty. Or at least give the option to.
Indeed. For all the talk of the suggestions hub and the devs conferring with feedback. Theres sparse, if any evidence they actually do.
For multiplayer it would be very beneficial to be able to opt out of qualifying if you are like me, a casual enthusiast who just likes the handling and being able to race others on tracks, for experts they can have their own metagame in starting at the back. These players that then opt out of qualifiers can populate lobbies lacking a couple players. This way you could drop both the qualifiers AND the long pre-race time.
In Builders Cup: It would be much better to make a 3 lap qualifying session instead just a 3 lap practise session before each race. The qualifying session should define your starting position in the main race instead of choosing a starting position before each race. In the qualifiyng session we also gain Car XP.
the current system can already be used as a qualifying lapā¦
when you get to āchallenge the gridā - select to see more and it will show you everyones lap times so you can pick your slot based on lap timesā¦ as if you qualifiedā¦
Agree! ā¦
I have to be honest, i donāt like the āChallenge the gridā feature in the āBuilders cupā. I donāt say that you shold remove that functionality but to place along side with a qualification session.
āChallenge the gridā makes you lose credits the more you get hig in the positions, menawhile a qualification session should allow you to go in the first positions without lose a single credit just because you earned that positionā¦
I know that any other sim-cade games have not qualifing sections ābut challenge the gridā for me is not a smart or immersive feature.
I hope that many other will agree with me that the qualifiing session is a needed feature.
Iām sorry for my clunky english.
I do also like the idea of a optional qualification.
It could be separated in Normal Career and Pro Career or something like that.
if you start 1st every time then it will take an additional half hour or more to rank up your vehicle because you are missing out on xp from passing other vehicles since youāll never pass anyone.
Thats a good point, because xp grinding will be necessary with build your car.
But maybe if your focus is on single player yould would set the difficulty very high, and donāt starting from first place every time.
A specific Pro Career Mode should also include longer Races too. With 15 instead of 3 rounds there is enough time to collect xp.
Yep would love a qualifying round added to Career mode! Challenge the grid is stupid imo, as of right now I use practice session as sort of a qualifying round so whatever best lap I end up setting is where I place myself on the Grid.
I like all the features in this game and i would like to make a suggestion about rolling start races to adding in a pace car only to rolling start races i think it would be immersive and cool whats rolling start race without a pace car
I agree. We NEED qualifying in all modes.
Maybe people will think this is an exaggeration but i literally uninstalled the game due to the lack of qualifying in career mode. I just canāt justify playing manually modifying race starting position every time. It takes so much from the realism of the game. Just make it qualifying-practice racesā position auto place you in race.
How hard can it be to implement it to the single player really?
I think, itās necessary to have customization feature in career. E.g.: different qualification types (off, hot-lap, full-time), different race length (short, medium, long, full) and so onā¦
I like an immersive experience, so having a full-scale race weekend option would be perfect.
