Its not microstutter its like a hard freeze every other second. FPS will drop to 10 then right back to 60 over and over and over. I haven’t even been down the first straightaway.
1080ti sits around 60-70% utilization while it happens. Read forums for a few hours and most said it was driver issue, roll back. Tried 436.30 and 436.48 no fix. IS it riva tuner/afterburner? Its only when moving as all the other other threads mention. [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]

Blah blah can run any game I want at high/ultra
Please tell me this is something simple, I cant even start the damn game.
Happens to me too, hard freezes when racing online and I haven’t updated my drivers in quite some time and that was just before I heard about the updated drivers causing issues.
I’m using a 2070 and a 9700 and most of my settings are on medium and unlocked v-sync is what I should be using in-game. I don’t know what’s causing this issue but it’s causing the game to be unplayable for multiple people.
I run 1070 gpu. Your rig is very good. If all up to date should run no problem. My game sometimes does it especially when switch from full screen to windowed and back to full. Then I have to restart
I have a 1080 (not a ti) with an 8700K but have not experienced the problems you describe. Currently running Nvidia’s 441.20 drivers.
If you go into device manager and view the display adapters, how many are displayed? If there’s an another device in addition to your GPU, right click and disable it. Then attempt to launch Forza Motorsport 7. What happens then?
Because anti-virus software (auto scan or update) is kicking in when you are playing that is why. It is using the cpu and the hard drive taking resources away from the game. You can disable when you play any game and then re-enable when you are done. Some game are just more sensitive to it.
Laptop with GTX 1070 here - I run on Ultra mode and what I found helped was tot set the parameter Resolution Scale = 100%; that removed stuttering for me while using driver 441.41.
I tried to make a post about this. I just purchased Forza Motorsport 7 on Windows 10 and it was nearly unplayable when I selected my monitor’s native resolution 2560x1440 but runs perfectly if I select the (recommended) widescreen resolution of 3840x1440. Go figure. I’m using an RTX 2070 Super.
Turn 10 made huge mistakes in FM7, made worse with updates. They have learnt from this as FH4 was released after and is fine for myself, and others who have purchased FH4. User Fullnietzsche has FM7 with problems, like the rest of us, and FH4 problem free. I know a few in the same position. FM8 comes out next year. Get a refund -Microsoft lets you get a refund up to 30 days after purchase. Get your refund, buy FM8.
(Edit) On a personal note. I am since 2011 CCIE lab qualified. My best friend is a programmer contractor who designed South Africa’s foreign exchange systems used by all banks like ABSA and FNB. They did not do this on purpose. They…. I think were too ambitious in their programming. I understand what they were trying to do here, and it was for the benefit of all users -not to mess it all up. It happened. No doubt, all titles after this FM7 debacle should be fine. A repeat of this NO person in their company wants.
(Edit) Let me add. My father is a mechanic (35 years) who became a partner in a business of sales in bike/car racing. I myself raced bikes for 8 years. I feel it was worth it to have a standalone SSD with FM7 with an old Win 10 copy. The game, tuned for simulation is so enjoyable. These guys have done a wonderful thing for people who know racing well. I hope, more than others, that Turn 10 gets this right -and they will. *(in future games)
Your reply is so revealing of what we all expect, what we all want, and what should be. We want moderators to be better than this, we want an acknowledgement of the game development problems in FM7 and assurances that new games will be without these problems.
-I am not a moderator here -we all feel your view & opinion expressed.
Moderators are unpaid volunteers for the forum and have nothing to do with game development. Why are you swearing? It isn’t allowed obviously and that certainly will get you nowhere. They did their job in removing whatever you said.
Read again the original post, and everything said. -Take your time… get someone to review the post & explain it to you, like before your comments are again “wrong”
I am just letting the other guy know what a Moderator does. It isn’t their fault and if they didn’t have to spend time deleting profanity and a lot of other nonsense they get put through maybe there would be more time for more pressing issues. That is all I am trying to say.
Turn 10 I guess has no answer for this. That’s it. Many have tried for an answer or acknowledgement and many have failed.
