PS5 Pro – Very Long Loading Times When Changing Cars or Accessing Collection / Slow Tune Loading

I’m encountering persistent technical issues in Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation 5 Pro, which significantly impact gameplay and online functionality.

The main issues are:
• Very long loading times (up to 30 seconds) when attempting to:
• Change cars via the in-game map
• Access the Car Collection while in free roam
• In these cases, the screen hangs/freeze-like behavior occurs, and after a long delay, the car list appears.
• Custom tunes from other players also load extremely slowly.
• These issues do not occur when accessing cars from a house or festival site — loading times are normal in those cases.
• General menu navigation is smooth and unaffected.

Additionally:
• Online sessions are unstable — frequent disconnections from Horizon Life sessions without warning.
• I experienced a localized frame drop in a specific part of the map while using Performance Mode, though this happened only once.

I’ve performed the following troubleshooting steps:
• Restarted the game and console multiple times
• Switched between Wi-Fi and Ethernet
• Reset my router
• Logged out and back in to my account
• Rebuilt PS5 database
• Reinstalled the game

None of the above resolved the issue.

For comparison: I own an Xbox Series X and tested FH5 under the same conditions (same network, same account). On Series X, none of these problems occur — car changes and tune loading are instant, and online sessions are stable.

This makes me suspect a platform-specific issue or possible performance degradation on PS5 Pro.

Could this be investigated?
I’d appreciate confirmation if this is a known issue, and whether a fix is being considered. If other PS5 users are affected, I’d be interested in hearing about it too.

Im tired of this, I have to wait 30 seconds sometimes even more, to change one car or just see tunes, all online features are so slow, its server issue or platform issue but on PS5 Pro I was expecting more on my Xbox everything works fine, please can someone finally answer?

It’s day one so it will probably improve in a few days. I’m sure there are a large amount of people trying to play. There’s a lot more PS5’s out there than Xbox.

Hi all - the team is continuing to gather information on this issue and requests the following:

  • Video examples if you’re able to record them
  • How frequent this happens - is it consistently every time and every session, or does the loading time decrease after multiple instances?

Loading times are still very long, unfortuntely. Please fix!

In some cases, bugs will not be fixed due to a variety of reasons. The developers have noted this issue as a risky fix.
