Hello ! i have very bad performance in FH4 , already tried reinstalling windows (format) , installing other drivers etc and still i have 40-50fps to 64 fps , suttering all the time , spikes etc , game is unplayable .
i7 8700k
GTX 1080ti
16GB RAM
game on SSD - even on other M2 and HDD
asrock z370 extreme 4
psu - seasonic 850w gold
i dont have this problem on other games . literally i tried everything and game sucks in performance . issue is that game uses 20% of my graphic card… ingame with FPS counter it says 90-99% usage of GPU but its not true i already checked it with MSI AFTERBURNER and task manager and it uses 20% of my graphic card. Integrated CPU card is disabled in BIOS - bios is up to date , drivers are up to date , game uses 20-40% of my CPU . What to do ? Worst thing is that i cant find the game on my PC , its hidden in WIndows APP folder and cant do anything with it… Tried alot of options in nvidia control panel and nothing helps . Directx 12. Changing scale to 1080 changes nothing , on 2k res runs smoother than in HD 1080. Task manager says im using 20% of memory in GPU and game says im using 90% of GPU …
SSD will help with load times but not much else. Here is how to access Windows apps folder. It is hidden just go to view and check unhide. Disable game mode and MSI afterburner.
Not that you should have any reason to access the game folder, you won’t find any solution in there.
My specs are worse than yours in all respects but the game runs beautifully without my system breaking a sweat, so whatever the problem is, it isn’t the game.
Any other games works perfectly, Even benchmarks gives beautiful results, only forza works like … You know what. Game runs on ssd m2 and that not helps at all, I tried literally everything I don’t know what’s the issue, forza installed trough Xbox game I think that’s the issue because Xbox is Xbox, not PC, I’m sure for 90 percent that Xbox game pass games are ported games from Xbox to PC, because in Google you can read many topics about bad performance in forza but nobody replied how to resolve that problem. Even support didn’t reply me at all and don’t want to help me.
It is not the game. I originally tried the game on game pass before I bought it last year, and I wouldn’t have bought it if it ran badly. The Xbox console is basically a PC running a custom version of Windows 10 anyway, the hardware is the same architecture as a PC, it isn’t like the last gen where the 360 and PS3 were completely different (to a PC and to each other).
I would advise keeping trying to find a solution at your end, because the problem is at your end somewhere.
How does the in-game benchmark look? This was mine recently, as you can see my specs are worse than yours.
Sorry, I’m not a PC user but keep coming across these performance-related posts much too often. There are going to be some great deals going around soon. Why not just get a One-X and get it over with? Not a bad investment, IMO, even if you already have a powerful PC.
That’s debatable, the One X will be obsoleted this time next year when its successor comes out. And he already has a great PC which will run this game perfectly at settings superior to the Xbox One X, when he figures out what the problem is.
Obsolete, really? They just released it 2 years ago and I’m sure not everyone is going to rush out to buy the Scarlett. I don’t think they’re going to abandon the X so soon, just like they kept making games for the X360 and released enhanced versions on the current console. In fact, the X360’s reign lasted almost a decade, I believe.
I’m a PC user and a console user. Once the new gen of consoles come out, the writing will be on the wall for the old ones. New games, especially top games stopped being made for the 360 not long after the Xbox One released. Those that were released were often inferior, like Forza Horizon 2. Suggesting it to someone with a powerful gaming PC which is capable of running this game perfectly is particularly questionable.
I’d agree, buying a one X is not the answer. A small number of PC users have issues. One X performance isn’t actually that good. 30fps quality or 60fps with reduced details. Those are averages so it can dip below.
In the op it’s not clear what is meant by 20% GPU usage, is that memory or rendering, it’s not the same.
What does the game benchmark say as average, high, low, stutter etc.
Is the GPU boosting to game clocks (MSI)
What is GPU temp
Is CPU boosting
Is CPU maxing 1-2 cores or even low usage on all.
What power plan are you on?
I had an issue where using freesync at high 1440p gave horrible performance (RX580/2600k) despite 70 fps average, felt like 10fps. Locking @ 60fps was fine though
and … well i swapped my graphic card to GTX 970 Strix 4 GB and i dont have any sutters and problems with game … but why game sutters only on GTX 1080Ti which is much more better than 970 ? thats weird , any other games works beautiful on 1080Ti but only forza Sutters
I am running Forza Horizon 4 on the following System:
Intel I7-7700 HQ
Geforce GTX 1060 6GB Ram Version
8 GB RAM
Windows 10
1080P
500GB SSD (game is installed here aswell)
Newest Nvidia Drivers
No OC
No Power-Saving Mode
However I can’t get more than 35-40 FPS on Medium settings in FH4 at 1080p (60FPS Mode).
Sometimes it’s just 20 FPS.
First I expect it to be throtteling, but the temps are ok and the problem occurs right
after starting the game.
I read and saw that most ppl play that game at 90-100 FPS on high with my settings.
What is wrong here?
It could be a Driver Issue but not all the Time. I have Issues with this Game too, in my case i can clearly see some kind of Scanlines on the Textures which looks like Stairs. Even more visible at Nighttime inGame or darker Textures. First Thought was it could be my Computer, after this i did a fully check myself and got it checked by an Expert. Nothing was found, all Components are in their best Condition, no such Problems in any other Game i´ve played with my Computer. My GPU is a nvidea 1050Ti.
To this Day i never had found any Solution, tested and reinstalled any Driver Update, reinstalled Windows 4 Times, as i said checked my Hardware, did a Bios Update, tried every possible Setting in the Game and so on.
Fact is, it must be something wrong in this Game which isnt optimized because most other Games working perfectly.
The effect you describe is often that the display doesn’t handle different graduations well often with dark colours. If you can’t see it in a zoomed screen grab then it’s not real.
