As the title says, the poll in the link is out of curiosity if you will be buying the expansion, if you don’t own it already.
I personally was so immensly disspointed today when the livestream didn’t adress a single thing about Ranked Adventure / Competitive Multiplayer / Class Rivals.
They did not even mention any of the critique that is all over the forum and Reddit. It was the same response that RetroKrystal has been giving for the last week or two “we are discussing it”. No acknowledgement, no nothing.
They lost me as a buying customer now. I don’t own the expansion, and I will personally not waste my money or time on it. Would be intresting to see if people are as dissapointed as I am, or if everyone is just a happy duckling and will keep on the hope-train that this will eventually be fixed.

I am so over T10/PGG removing classic parts of the game that core gamers like myself are expecting. First and foremost is class based racing and/or rivals. Why have they been removed, it’s what kept me playing when I was frustrated with the moronic bashers online or just needed a break from the grind of the campaign. I love pushing myself against the next guy and trying to get a quirky car like a Bel Air or El Camino as far up a list as I could. But now it’s this dumb championship based concept or a homologation based thing that is just not what I (or alot of others I race with) want to see.
The Devs just cant leave well enough alone.
And then the live stream is just what amounts to watching three complete non-car enthusiasts and, from what I can tell, a programmer who’s side job is a professional troll who seem to think that they are working at Fornite and not Forza.
I’ve been around since the beginning. There used to be a time when the Devs actually listened to us in here. That’s long gone and I accepted that. Just don’t have some 20-something blond millennial tell me to come here and make my suggestion “and we’ll listen” because you clearly have not for the last three iterations for FM and are now taking the same route (not root) on the FH side.
They clearly stated they are revamping the multiplayer aspect of the game but can’t get into details because its still too far out and they want to get it right.

For the record, I bought Ultimate and I’ve been really put-off about the state of the online play, along with a number of other things, such as the lack of championships, and other such things. I actually stopped playing a few days ago, which is really a big deal because of how I game.
I’m looking forward to seeing the new patch though, so I’ll check it out tonight.
I can’t give you time stamps off the top off my head, I can tell you in the second to last playground dev stream one of the senior devs said they understood we’re unhappy, and that they are unhappy with it upon further review, and RetroKrystal brought it up again last stream.
Realistically I wouldn’t expect it till next year, but thankfully with new cars and events every week and an expansion coming up there will be plenty to do until then.
Well, since I only like buy one or 2 games per year, and the fact that I’m a fan of the Forza franchise, I don’t really mind coughing out a bit more cash to get the ultimate edition, which I do own. so do I regret it ? not really. That’s not to say I’m perfectly happy with the game, which I am definitely not, I actually am really frustrated because at its core, FH4 is truly an amazing game, however, there are some things which should have been fixed as soon as possible, such as multiplayer, and still aren’t. But, I have faith that soon, through updates and feedback, we will be getting the FH4 we should’ve gotten from day one. All it takes is a bit of patience.
Should not have been gone from the beginning…why take it out? No one complained about class based racing or rivals. This is the biggest disappointment since the removal of Public Custom Lobbies. I don’t want a free-for-all S2 AWD series. Which it seems to be the majority of the time.
I want to race different drivetrain layouts with little or no assists against like minded gamers. I want to be able to manage the lobby I’m in and police the races without having to make a video and send it out and hope for the best (the marshall system is ok but those guys are BUSY). I want to set the limit for the class and the rules for the race in a more granular way. This barely ever happens in Motorsport and, especially now, is basically non-existent in Horizon. Just because they are saying they are “revamping” the MP experience leaves me with little hope because that could mean anything.
I can almost guarantee you that there will be little to no fixes to make the racing actually class based or competitive. It’s been gone since FM4 and it is more than likely never coming back. What we’ll get is some goofy, story based, nonsensical BS like racing P50s, or more stunt locations (which are fun for about 3 days) and a butt-ton more clothes and horns.
Imagine, starting a road trip, set it to A Class, RWD, Classic Sports Cars at the Goliath for 3-5 laps with TCS and STM forced off? Then open it and people who wanted to race that with you would just join…that would be amazing. That will not happen…but you will get another SUV, a pair of watermelon leggings and a new set of colors for you MX outfits that you can wear when your not riding your MX bike.
We did it in FM1, FM2, FM4…so yeah I do. It’s not hard, even in Horizon. It would be a series of options with radial buttons or on off boxes before your lobby started. Then then lobby rules wouldn’t let incoming players pick the vehicles outside of the lobby rules.
SO…because I want something that was in the franchise when it was still an enjoyable online experience and have the ability to choose options means I’m asking for the moon. Get a grip homie.
And stop being a homer and saying I’m asking for something that only I want because if anyone is in the minority it’s you. Even in FH1 you could at least choose what class you were racing…then it turned into a vote…now its nothing, not even an option for the lower classes.
I’m glad your content being given less of a game with every release. I also find funny that you feel the need to try to belittle my point of view because you either don’t agree or can’t grasp trying to effect change by going on the very website that PG said that they look at and voicing my opinion. But as was once said…those of feeble mind ought not try to grasp the complex idea of communication.
Multiplayer is a disappointment in this game, but there’s so much else to do single-player, and me & my friends have been having a blast with creating routes & doing convoy/team races. The Fortune Island expansion will keep me quite busy while they sort out multiplayer.
Im more and more happier that this game is gamepass and i havent need to pay any money. upcoming expansion, no thank you. When or should i say if they fix multiplayer and rivals then i would be more than happy to spen 100€ to ultimate edition but for now i dont see anyreason even to spend 18€ on to expansion.
They did mention that they are working on addressing the multiplayer, and they are taking their time to do it right before that update goes live. Personally I don’t really play much multiplayer anyways, apart from occasional random Co-Op events that people create in a Horizon Life session. I may consider Adventure mode if they get rid of S2 class and add in B, and C class adventures.
As for the Expansion, I bought the Ultimate Edition and am glad I did, Fortune Island sounds like fun.
Firstly, i’m an ultimate buyer and I dont regret it. Its a great single player game until you run out of things to do…
Now all I play is the online adventure. To be clear I dont like the team aspect because like others have said, you can win and still lose, its very VERY frustrating. With that being said, I dont dislike it enough to stop playing altogether. If I get too annoyed i’ll quit the lobby. The one thing I do HATE are wallriders, I’m pretty sure I hate them more than players who deliberately crash into other racers.

The AI is so terrible, after the first few weeks, I only play MP in Forza. Aaaaaaand they’ve completely butchered it this year.
The expansion will be fun for a short while (a very short while without championships… OH LOOK another step backwards), but I wish I hadn’t bought the Ultimate edition. I’ve pretty much stopped playing FH4 already. The MP is beyond garbage, and once again THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT WALLRIDING.
Team adventure is pointless because I can win and still lose, freefroam rush is pointless because it takes zero skill and makes so many cars obsolete, ranked mode is a joke where you get +5 points for winning and -60 for losing because of your team (and it takes 15 mins to find a game where you’ll spend 25% racing and 75% sat in pointless screens), no class-based rivals is the most illogical thing I have ever seen, no ability to solo timetrial on created courses against other player is a massive oversight, no D C B class in MP… what the hell were they thinking.
Yes I’m ranting, but I’ve completely lost all faith in these incompetent devs.
The game has been out for 2 months, we’ve heard absolutely nothing besides a vague message on a forum post, and this is the last straw.
