(rubs hands)
Now THIS is something i’m eager to give my 2 cents on!
Here’s what i have in mind :
German Touring Masters
(let’s assume DTM is tied exclusivly to Raceroom. That sim the official cars of previous years so i’m avoiding a potential licensing issue)
•New track - Fuji Speedway, both chicane layouts if possible.
(Hear me out. I know it’s not a German track but given this hosted 2 collaboration races between the DTM and Super GT, i figure that’s a significant enough connection to be included. Plus, we need more non-American and Pacific circuits in general.)
•New cars :
-Audi RS5 Turbo Class 1 (similar to the one in GT7) | Available for purchase
-Nissan GT-R GT500 (the one from FM6/7) | Available for purchase
-BMW M4 Turbo Class 1 2021 (yes, the one that didn’t end up racing) | Available as a reward from the featured tour or 10 races in the “Forza Class 500” series in featured multiplayer
-Porsche Cayman GT4 (the racecar from FM7) | Available for purchase
-Audi RS3 LMS 2021 TCR | Available for purchase
-Mercedes-Benz C Class Class 1 1994 (the D2 liveried one) | Available as a reward from the open tour
Why this specific bunch of cars ?
•The Audi and BMW were the only brands left after merc pulled out years earlier. Audi would follow suit after the end of 2020. Then the change to GT3 cars happened in 2021 wich made BMWs updated M4 irrelevant. I think it would be fun to give them a chance to race against eachother finally! …but why is a GT-R there? If you recall my mention of Fuji, DTM and Super GT would collab with eachother for a few years and one time, the Japanese series send over 1 of each of their cars in GT500 (same cars on a technical pov, just different tires). The Nissan is a car we can port over to help fill the grid and save some dev time (plus i like the Nissan GT-R in general).
•We are in desperate need of GT4 cars and as the ADAC GT4 Germany series is on the support bill for DTM usually, it makes sense adding one in. The Porsche also saves some dev work.
•The TCR Audi is kinda there only for having an actual German touring car wich fits the name of the update
plus, who doesn’t mind another TCR car ?
•The C class Mercedes was an iconic car of it’s time and i thought it was nice having a historic, and useable, reward car for the open tour. This would most likely go into the GTX sportscars division.
•Featured multiplayer series :
Whole update - Forza Class 500
(All added cars for this group would be same PI, handling model etc, similar to nascar. Therefore no need to BOP them and save some time)
Week 1 - Some kind of horsepower/weight/PI range based open series
Week 2 - Porsche 911 GT3 RS spec series
(Why didn’t we have this yet ? One of the most competitive and globally supported single make series is the carrera cup and a regional series is typically part of the DTM support bill)
Week 3 - Group A inspired spec series (Merc 190 Evo 2, E30 M3 etc…)
Week 4 - GTX Sportscars
•Additional features :
-Depth slider in the livery editor. Similar in GT7, this tool would make making liveries that much better with not having to deal with certain vinyls appearing on the car if there is some space between panels.
-Updated radar with additional colorblind options. Also included is a “Faster class approaching” notification if during a multiclass races a higher class car is on fast approach to pass you.
-Updated FRR to incoorperate revised illegal overtake parameters
•Usual bunch of bug fixes
I think that’s all i could think of to make an as complete as possible package for a month about a series i really love to watch… Until their livestreams on YouTube were geoblocked in Belgium because of a (stupid) TV deal.
