Poll: If You Could Create Your Own Update, What Would the Theme Be?

,

If you could create your own update, what theme would you choose?

  • A manufacturer month (e.g., Ferrari, Porsche, Ford, etc.)
  • A country-themed update (e.g., cars and tracks from Japan, Germany, USA, etc.)
  • A specific car style update (e.g., classic cars, muscle cars, prototypes, etc.)
  • A quality of life update (e.g., improvements to matchmaking, new game modes, better AI, performance upgrades – no new vehicles or tracks will be added)
0 voters

What cars and tracks would you include based on that theme?

If you selected the quality of life update, which improvements would you prioritize?

DTM !!! Super touring!!! This is where the steel was tempered! :sunglasses:

Would you only bring the DTM cars to Forza, or would you also bring a track that isn’t in the game yet?

For me the number of tracks is not a priority, the iconic cars and series are much more important.

We got 1 car…1!

IndyCars, and I’m bringing the old Reynards, Swifts, Penskes and Lolas out to play. Honestly, as revered as those cars are, it’s a crying shame that no one, outside of Automobilista 2, has tried to get them in a video game since CART Fury.

I would throw out all custom open races they make, and just open all classes for whole month. (Multiplayer)
Just leave typical gt/touring races and maybe one spec event and disable everything else for all class open multiplayer (with weekly changing race length between short and medium in alternating pattern EdCbAsRpX / eDcBaSrPx upper case = medium length, lower case = short length)

Vintage GT

A combination of golden era Trans Am, and Nascar. Along with a variety of Group 2, 3, and 4 cars from around the world.

For me it would have to be themed around older touring cars. I want to see a new class added consisting of GroupA-racing and Group2-racing. Vote on them!
I think these two classes can be combined into one division in Forza as Gr.A is an evolution of Gr.2. With a bit of BoP magic they can race together.

These just look so cool and I would love to drive them in the game. Trying to recreate them with upgrades doesn’t do the same, I mean just look at their bodykits!

An example of Group 2 and Group A racing together:

And if I’m on it, adding Zandvoort to drive these cars on would make the update the best it can be!

EDIT:
I’ve made a suggestion out of this:

They could add 100 new tracks and every vehicle ever known to mankind, and it wouldn’t matter to me because the base game itself is so heavily flawed.

  1. Give us a proper career mode.
  2. Get rid of FOMO and make all past events and rewards available permanently.
  3. Improve the AI, and once you’ve done that, allow us to populate private MP sessions with them.
  4. Improve the UI and put some actual thought behind it, so I don’t have to, for example, scroll through and select my car every **** time I go into a different menu.
  5. Improve the CPU optimization on PC.
  6. Give us matchmaking that actually works, and does a better job of putting us with players near our skill level.
  7. Give us improved default wheel settings so new players don’t have to spend the better part of two hours looking up youtube videos and fiddling with two dozen different sliders before they can have a decent experience.
  8. Give Xbox players the ability to have a virtual rearview mirror in cockpit view, like PC players have.
  9. Give us the ability to move our seating/camera position in cockpit view, like you can in nearly every other semi-serious racing game
  10. Give us better tools for freeplay (and private MP) so we can create custom championships and can have full race weekends with practice, quali, and race sessions

I could go on, but what’s the point? I’ve moved on because I’ve accepted that nearly everything I’ve just listed is not going to happen in this game.

Such a thoughtful and insightful addition to this conversation. Thank you for your contribution. I said I’ve “moved on”, meaning I’ve moved on from playing this game. That doesn’t mean that I’m not still interested to see what happens to it as time goes on.

Not trying to be rude but these kind of replies on every post gets tiresome when there’s loads of posts already you can discuss about all of the games issues. Can we just stay on topic in the posts where we are discussing something else?

Update X: thrown towel update. Start working on FM2026 “Built REALLY from the Ground Up” utilizing unreal engine. Sorry to all the Livery designers but “from the ground up” means just that. And even though you’ll have to do all new designs, you’ll enjoy the new design studio.

Sorry, how is my reply not on-topic when one of the poll options specifically states the following:

If you don’t like my reply, that’s fine, you’re entitled to your opinion. But don’t chime in with snarky comments and then try to tell me I’m off-topic when I clearly am not.

As far as car theme goes, I have a few ideas, and there’s no way I could just boil it down to one.

As far as features and fixes go, I think the biggest thing for me would be a complete redesign of the livery editor. Drop everything, break compatibility if you have to, and make something that’s actually modern, powerful, and nice to use.

(rubs hands)

Now THIS is something i’m eager to give my 2 cents on!

Here’s what i have in mind :

German Touring Masters

(let’s assume DTM is tied exclusivly to Raceroom. That sim the official cars of previous years so i’m avoiding a potential licensing issue)

•New track - Fuji Speedway, both chicane layouts if possible.
(Hear me out. I know it’s not a German track but given this hosted 2 collaboration races between the DTM and Super GT, i figure that’s a significant enough connection to be included. Plus, we need more non-American and Pacific circuits in general.)

•New cars :
-Audi RS5 Turbo Class 1 (similar to the one in GT7) | Available for purchase
-Nissan GT-R GT500 (the one from FM6/7) | Available for purchase
-BMW M4 Turbo Class 1 2021 (yes, the one that didn’t end up racing) | Available as a reward from the featured tour or 10 races in the “Forza Class 500” series in featured multiplayer
-Porsche Cayman GT4 (the racecar from FM7) | Available for purchase
-Audi RS3 LMS 2021 TCR | Available for purchase
-Mercedes-Benz C Class Class 1 1994 (the D2 liveried one) | Available as a reward from the open tour

Why this specific bunch of cars ?
•The Audi and BMW were the only brands left after merc pulled out years earlier. Audi would follow suit after the end of 2020. Then the change to GT3 cars happened in 2021 wich made BMWs updated M4 irrelevant. I think it would be fun to give them a chance to race against eachother finally! …but why is a GT-R there? If you recall my mention of Fuji, DTM and Super GT would collab with eachother for a few years and one time, the Japanese series send over 1 of each of their cars in GT500 (same cars on a technical pov, just different tires). The Nissan is a car we can port over to help fill the grid and save some dev time (plus i like the Nissan GT-R in general).
•We are in desperate need of GT4 cars and as the ADAC GT4 Germany series is on the support bill for DTM usually, it makes sense adding one in. The Porsche also saves some dev work.
•The TCR Audi is kinda there only for having an actual German touring car wich fits the name of the update  plus, who doesn’t mind another TCR car ?
•The C class Mercedes was an iconic car of it’s time and i thought it was nice having a historic, and useable, reward car for the open tour. This would most likely go into the GTX sportscars division.

•Featured multiplayer series :
Whole update - Forza Class 500
(All added cars for this group would be same PI, handling model etc, similar to nascar. Therefore no need to BOP them and save some time)
Week 1 - Some kind of horsepower/weight/PI range based open series
Week 2 - Porsche 911 GT3 RS spec series
(Why didn’t we have this yet ? One of the most competitive and globally supported single make series is the carrera cup and a regional series is typically part of the DTM support bill)
Week 3 - Group A inspired spec series (Merc 190 Evo 2, E30 M3 etc…)
Week 4 - GTX Sportscars

•Additional features :
-Depth slider in the livery editor. Similar in GT7, this tool would make making liveries that much better with not having to deal with certain vinyls appearing on the car if there is some space between panels.
-Updated radar with additional colorblind options. Also included is a “Faster class approaching” notification if during a multiclass races a higher class car is on fast approach to pass you.
-Updated FRR to incoorperate revised illegal overtake parameters
•Usual bunch of bug fixes

I think that’s all i could think of to make an as complete as possible package for a month about a series i really love to watch… Until their livestreams on YouTube were geoblocked in Belgium because of a (stupid) TV deal.

  • Fixed bugs
  • Better and extensive career mode
  • Better IA
