Poll: How would you rate the game?

I probably forgotten a lot of things, i just typed down what i had in mind in the moment i made that short bullet list.

It’s interesting to see that there are barely any X-Box Series S players.

3.5

It was higher at launch but uncovering the issues since then and the lack of response/fixes is bringing it down.
If it doesn’t get any better then it will be even lower than this if you were to ask me in a few months time.

4: game got potential with a fun and nice driving system and it got some nice moment, but the bugfestival is way to big for a triple A game and the multiplayer is the happy hunting ground of 12y old kids trying it on game pass and beliving it’s another NFS.

I went for 1 because there’s no lower than that. PC optimization is still a disaster and it’s unacceptable three months after the release of this mess.

I couldn’t add anymore ratings like 0 and 0.5 that is why the lowest is 1. Else you could have voted 0.

4 from me. I sort of feel harsh about that as I do enjoy playing it (once I have the car I want levelled up so I can actually drive it as I intended). However, I think the rating has to take into account that this isn’t a new game from a small studio.

Judged against other Forza games it feels like the game was rushed out. CarXP should never have made it past the idea stage, the single player game is bare bones and things like stats lacking is just bizarre. If you look at some of the special features in earlier Forzas, this game just feels like it was put together following a script, rather than with innovation and customer enjoyment being put first.

The drip feed of content, poor communication and general inconsistency between what was said pre and post launch also all contributes to the low rating.

Added 2 more polls.

I can’t rate that over than 1/10. It’s a total scam.

This, I’m in with @Cained_N_unAbel on what he said. But I’d add the paint shop is a mess, the physics is not much better than FM7 if it is as good. Cars have terrible understeer with a controller. Leveling up cars is a time consuming and pointless. Just let us build our cars without the time wasting grindy-dance. Just change CarXP and CarPG to CR and we can buy car parts with Credits. And people who want to grind away for the prestige of leveling their cars can grind grind grind. The rest of us can buy, tune, and race. Because that is what a racing game should be about.

So we have after 163 Votes a 4,515 out of 10.
That says a lot. T10 have a lot of work to do…

I voted 8,5: even with his problems i like the game expecially when like this week class A and S pops in multiplayer.
It has his problema and I don’ t really like the leveling of cars but the developers said they are working on It so…
To be honest I wouldn’t waste my time in a forum of a game that for me Is 1 to 5. I simply change game… in 2024 expecially of you have game pass there are a lot of games where you can have fun…

Because I still wear the motorsport glasses. Unfortunately, the game is bubbling over with a lack of ideas and you can tell at every point that all the love of its predecessors is missing. This was particularly noticeable on fm3 and fm4. Here the opposite is the case, I wonder if the developers have just a drop of gasoline in their blood. ForzaVista is an insult this time. Missing statistics are a no go. AI and other errors have been discussed several times. At the beginning it was said that in the future you could act quickly, through machine learning, you could quickly eliminate other bugs, etc. Trailers looked like a completely different game and promised big things. And to the poster in front of me: Some give low ratings and are still in the forum because they have a connection to the Forza series and they care about the game finally developing well.

Edit. Fomo Cars be an absolute disgrace, I pre-ordered the most expensive version and get something like this. Unlocking the car is completely okay, but I find it a shame to limit the time so that you can miss it, especially as a Deluxe Premium buyer.

i rated it three. there is potential; the multiplayer structure is exactly what i want out of the game and the physics engine is fantastic. however, the penalty system alone totally ruins the game for me, the lack of tracks really hurts it, the single player campaign is anemic to the point of feeling useless, the grind to unluck parts is a huge pain, and that’s just scratching the surface.

i think this game is ultimately more salvageable than fm7 was (side note, that game outright pissed me off on launch, this one just makes me sad), but they have a looooooooong way to go if they are gonna bring it to an acceptable state. and frankly, with this being the second badly botched forza game in a row, i do not have faith that t10 can pull a no man’s sky on this and turn a dud into a well-liked game praised for its heroic redemption arc. that said, i’d genuinely be thrilled to be proven wrong, so it’s your move t10. prove me wrong.

XBox Series S with Wheel

I play single player exclusively.

My first XBox, bought specifically for upcoming FM release, which is my first Forza title. I chose FM and XBox over a PS5/GT, since the new FM was going to be a true current generation release.

The core driving is superb. It’s why I’m still here. When things are going good, it’s really good (IMO). FFB took a while to setup, but feels great.

  • Biggest downfall overall IMO is PC stability and bugs. Fixing this must be top priority. My XBox series S has had almost no bugs or crashes, but this still is a critical priority.

  • Biggest downfall for me (problems I actually have), is AI. There are streaks where they work OK for a 3 to 6 lap race. This is where the “why I’m still here” exists. But when the brake checking, ramming, and crashing into me (among countless other things)… I just turn off the game. This AI feels like it was copied over from the Horizons “smash-em-up” style games. IMO it has no place in Motorsports track racing, and MUST GO.

  • Next problem for me, Car Progression.

Reasons Why

I hate this system. So bad, there will be several parts to this review section.

Takes so long to get some basic track day upgrades. Driving the stock cars in events might be OK, if not that so many of the stock cars have utterly terrible handling. Having to run race after race with a terrible handling car (slowly waiting for when I can upgrade the car) steals the enjoyment.

Car Progression does not fit with the Career Builders Cup. My first 2 or 3 races, I don’t have enough CarXP or CP to upgrade. AI are driving on Race tires before I can unlock them. Then after a full Builder’s Cup series, my car is only at level 12 (happened last night).

This leads to the 2nd big downfall for Car Progression… why drive that level 12 car again? It doesn’t work in the next Builder’s Cup series. There is no further series that takes the cars from the first Cups into a second series where the cars can be more fully upgraded and tuned.

Maybe I go race the Level 12 car in Free Play, and level it up to Level 50… I’ve got a car fully upgraded and tuned as I like it. But now, it seems that often this stronger build IS NOT ALLOWED in the Builder’s Cup events that I ran it in, originally!

And this leads into yet another big downfall for Car Progression… Why should I drive that Level 50 car again… Ever?! Time spent driving a favorite car at Level 50 means I earn ZERO Car Experience or Car Points towards anything. No other cars are making progress.

I love my upgraded car, but no Builder’s Cup events allow it, and driving it prevents me from gaining Car Progression for any other cars. Feels like running into an unnecessary brick wall.

There is no reason that if this game is going to have a progression system, that me playing with my favorite car should count for NO PROGRESS. Simply wasted time. This MUST GO.

  • Final major issue for me is the Career. It’s painfully thin. There is very limited replay value (see above, about replay with higher level cars). I’m not going to list everything here. So much more could be done. Really a disappointment.

  • The final score is also reduced because I feel like what I was show in the previews was simply not delivered. Details on the tracks, simple things T10 took time to show off, some cones, a small fairground… just gone. Details on the cars, reflection quality, and such.

Yes, I’m on Xbox Series S and knew I’d never have those top quality graphics. And to be fair, I am very, very pleased with the graphics my Series S is providing (better than I expected). Especially in rain, at night, various weather. Using “Visuals” mode at 1440p has been very nice.

But that’s no cover for how many things seem simply far short of what was shown, especially for PC and Xbox Series X players.

That is a very detailed review thank you. :+1:

Its just boring. Career mode is a joke. What happened to all the races we had in FM7 for career mode. Finished everything available in the first week, and now its one new race every week? What happened to the endurance races? Upgrading the cars like it is now was a horrible idea, just let me buy upgrades with money. Multiplayer is a joke, i get t-boned in a corner from a car not slowing down at all and i get a 4 second penalty? This game is a waste of money.

I wonder why there is wind outside the showroom or whatever it’s called. But not on the race tracks themselves? Is it so hard to add some wind effects to trees and bushes? I don’t think so, it’s just laziness.

I just noticed something, on Road America there is wind, but no wind at all on Spa. This is so weird.

I will pay more attention to the trees now. Maybe i just miss the movement while driving with high speed on Spa, but no i don’t think so.

Have it at 4.5 and that’s just for handling and the risk reward feature that I think a lot of. But it’s needs longer in the oven for sure.
