My opinion :
I love the spec series races because you race against the other with the same car and the same tune so it’s full based on the skill and not on the tune.
PS: We need more spec series without tune in my opinion

I would like more spec series that have very limited or no tuning options. I do not create my own tuning setups so I download tunes from drivers posting fast times. I very much enjoyed the Golf GTI spec series because any time difference on the track was clearly achieved by skill not tuning setup. I like to spend my time driving, tuning suspension settings is too time consuming and overwhelming for me: so many interacting settings to adjust.

Some of spec races are quite good, but on other side I don’t like driving old F1 cars, or lmp cars. While car specific spec races force u to use m/c that gives u lot of advantage and with current “power shift fix”, using m/c with non race transmission is just pain in 4$$, while looking at last golf spec races, they used stock (open) diff, that is just BAD, if only they used street diff, car would handle lot better (and u still got no ability to fine tune it).
Btw in most of spec races u can still fine tune cars to gain advantage.
By spec race, I mean mono-type race so like Golf Race, BRZ or the Miata one we got earlier
Well then as I said there advantage in from of m/c, and while I enjoyed all of them, bmw M3 series was like driving a boat that car was underteering too much, while golf open diff made car handle like total garbage (and car got too much grip for its power)
But sliding in brz was nice.
I see and understand your opinion, I don’t drive with m/c so I haven’t seen the difference between both thing.
And you speak about handling. For me it’s cool to have cars like this because you have to learn how to drive them so it’s not brain-dead
Usually the guys that win these races with 1-2s faster lap, it’s becouse they use m/c xd once doing brz spec race on mulego in rain I won with 10s lead when I started from 20th position, m/c gives lot of advantage.
And I don’t mind when cars have different handling, it’s just that gulf open diff was rly bad, all they had to do is to use street diff instead
I was competitive against m/c drivers so I haven’t saw anything but I believe you about this.
And I wasn’t disturbed with the Golf but it depends of the driver I think
If you were competitive against players that used MC you were simply better.
Depending on the shift-time penalties you can lose up to 1,5 seconds/lap on a track like Mugello.
The biggest advantage though is on starts. It’s easy to gain seconds on non-MC users there.
I don’t mind spec races but some stock setups are just crap. Like the mentioned open diff. Even 5% lock would’ve improved the feeling by a mile.

Yeah some are weird to drive like the Golf. (For me it was weird just at the beginning but when I knew how to drive the car it was fine I think)
I generally only like the Spec Series events if the car(s) chosen are at the PI cap for their class.
That way after the week ends, I can use the same tune in regular races and not feel so disadvantaged.
It’s the best kind of racing Forza can offer since there’s no balance inside of car divisions.
So you only like one-make race if you can use the car in (Letter) Class race after it ?
And it’s the only way to race against the other without tune for both side
I’d prefer the spec series to be upgrade-free. I don’t mind tuning being unlocked, and with stock parts most of the car won’t be tunable anyway unless it’s a race car. But when upgrades are added to the car you don’t really get to completely experience racing it. The best balance for me would be stock cars with tuning allowed.
The spec series are made for casual player. It’s easy to play and everyone can win not like the other lobbies (Forza GT, forza touring car, …) where it’s more a tune game than a racing game
And about the best balance for you… It’s good for hardcore players so people who like to tune cars (And it’s what they did for the weekly rival with the new car added).
For me the best balance should be like Polyphony did in GTSport and after in GT7 so a “good” balance of performance for cars and don’t allow tune for Forza GT, Forza Touring, etc.
You can have competitive race for casual and for less casual players
That’s what do the open class series (B class, A class, …). And as you said it, it’s a game.
That’s why everyone should have a chance to do competitive race.
I’m a casual player (I say casual just because I do casual player things so just jump in a car and drive without making fast and furious on it) and I like to do good races where skill is more important than the tune. And one-make race is the only way to do it on Forza Motorsport
Just thanks, you literally put words on a lot of things i think about FM, miss street race so much
Yes.
Class racing is the bread and butter, and where I find the most replayability. Always has been.
Yeah I understand it’s the most replayable race mode in multiplayer for most of the people. That’s the only thing Forza makes great too I think xd
