So What happend to the drift lobby’s in this game, it used to be based on score over X amounts of laps now its just set to a time limit so people with R and above drift cars will go fast to earn points quicker and consequently get less points per lap than others yet still win. For example i set 92,000 points on maple valley yet came second to a guy who only did 68,500 as his best lap (yeah i drift slow, but hey i get loads of points). Am i the only one who dislikes this change!
I can get a 110k a lap slow and about 95 fast. Step on the gas homie!

What would positive camber do?
Allows lots of angle while keeping speed up.
Long ago (Forza 1/2 days) the community decided that since it isnt done in real life, we don’t do it in the game.
Yeah they implemented that to keep people from running positive camber and crab crawling around the entire track the whole time…
couldnt turn 10 just restrict positive camber?
Time makes it even. You go for just speed drift ypu get less points. You drift slow and and flashy less road get covered in the amaunt of time. Gotta find that perfect blend to win
If you prefer +camber and drag tires be prepared to be way slower then most cars and get crap about how your car looks. All in all drift what you want to drift and have fun

Drag tires belong in a straight line not in corners, you’re essentially putting power on a boat anchor and shoving it really hard then controlling its trajectory “kind of” like ice curling. Where the hell is the fun in that? Oh yeah more points! which you can still make more of a lot faster by going faster doing more laps with consistent laps overall.
Has nobody realised that the drift hoppers are full of idiots who race instead of drift? That’s why I avoid points drifting, very little skill in it anyway. Try find a few buddy’s, set up a private lobby and go get some doors! Far more skill involved and at the end of the day you don’t have to deal with race tires etc.

Points drifting is the cancer that killed or at least mortally wounded the forza drift community.
So many morons who think how many points you can get proves how good you are.
When in reality it just teaches bad habits like crawling around the track.
I see two schools of thought.
Points/fake/video game drifting
and
True drifting.
I remember back in the old days on forza central where the only real argument was AWD vs 2WD. (yes 2wd NOT RWD)
Even back then everyone was pretty much on the same page.
Everyone knew drifting was a style thing and there was/is no way to do a point system in a video game to quantify what was a better drift vs another drift.

FWIW, if you’re a hardcore points guy who runs drag/race tires and aims for as many points as possible, you can still win. Had some guy last night running the lobbies I was in with like 70k points more than I had at the end of each race. I’m driving decently fast usually at the front of the pack thanks to the doofuses in pubs who crash all the time.
Lets be honest here. Real hardcore drifters are playing Rfactor and Asetto Corsa with sweet wheel setups. If I was more intelligent when it came to building a gaming PC, I’d have kissed FM goodbye long ago. But, I’m stuck here wishing for drift friendly tracks and cars trying to tandem in lobbies with 12 year olds driving X class cars who have never heard of Nobuteru Taniguchi, or Yasuyuki Kazama…
Points Drifting shouldn’t even be a thing. Watch the video below, to see THEE BENCHMARK for drifting. Scratch that, watch any video on that channel, and educate yourself.
Not sure if I qualify as hardcore or not but I have a decent wheel setup and I always run realistic style drift cars and anything less than 900DOR for drifting is sacrilege lol, I always have loved drifting on forza, even with its flaws. Points or no points, it’s still fun.
Just came to the forums to check on server issues and peeps are still banging on about points drifters and how it killed the community and what skill it takes to do this and what skill it takes to do that etc.
What about my all time favorite… When someone tries to tell everyone “what drifting is all about”
Just enjoy yourselves and stop whining.

Yep amen, I’ve been saying it for years… drifting is what you make of it Microsoft has their version we have ours with more diversity. Love what you do and if you don’t like the other types don’t complain about them just stay to what you do.

I run mid-S Class cars the rare time I do some points lobbies and finish half a track ahead at least, and in terms of speed compared to the top ESDA guys I’m pretty slow.
I don’t wanna say “git gud”, but like… git gud.
