Please Merge Motorsport with Horizon!

Just a wish that after the bad news of the lay offs,
Rather than scrapping Forza Motorsport could it be merged with Forza Horizon to make a ‘Super Forza’???

It failed. Numbers don’t lie. Why merge a failure with a winner?

I think the idea of real race tracks within Horizon might satisfy the FH folk who want more racing, but it wouldn’t satisfy the Motorsport fans who want serious track racing only.

Integrating all the tracks would be a challenge for sure. Horizon 6 would need to refocus into a world wide experience, with your career taking you around the globe. Perhaps there could still be a base location like Germany or Japan but once you’ve obtained a gold wristband you gain access to the world’s tracks. If it’s a live service game again, those tracks could be released every couple of months along with new cars.

Sounds good but with all the layoffs, it sounds kinda’ mean to dump twice the work on half the amount of people (devs I mean).

An ignorant way of thinking. You can hate the game, but you shouldn’t hate the possibilities. Assetto Corsa EVO is going to try, and if it works, why can’t Forza?

And yours is a corporate way of thinking. I don’t hate the game; I don’t even play it. As I said, “numbers don’t lie”. I’m just saying that if I were a developer who was lucky enough to not get laid off, I’d probably wish I was laid off if the boss threw all of the laid off workers’ work onto me.

So you’re giving your opinion on a game you don’t even play :skull::rofl: oh lord lol . Also to educate you why Motorsport failed was because of Phil Spencer . Not because of the devs , not the devs fault they had 6month contracts , not their fault Phil never promoted the game after the release . Phil failed the game , plus all of sim players agree with him , it makes more sense to have a horizon open world aspect do all the generics things that would and then once you get different color wristbands you can fly(fast travel) to different real world race tracks for competitions.

I’m giving my opinion on merging the games; not the game. And I don’t care who’s to blame. The reality is that layoffs happened because of that failure. Blaming doesn’t change that reality.

This ‘failure’ is one of Xbox’s flagship game franchises. The game was poorly received, but not all Forza Motorsport titles were bad either. Microsoft has shut down games that hadn’t even been released — do you consider those failures too? What about Hi-Fi Rush, which barely had any marketing? Was that a failure as well? Come on, man.

I… am… only… talking about 1 game. I get it. You’re all devastated and maybe it’s too soon to hear my harsh take on it. I can’t speak to any other games except for the fact that it seems that

layoffs=loss of person hours=loss of game development=cut wherever possible.

Stop getting down on me. I am also not to blame for any of this.

Come on, girl.

Well… No one here blamed you for anything. I sincerely hope you understood this.

I’m talking about a franchise. Instead of being killed off without a second thought, it could actually be used for something worthwhile.

I hope they listen to the people who like this game and this franchise at least.

P.S. I’m reposting the message just to make my point.

I was thinking that T10 would fully assist with Playground Games as it would in effect be a merged game.

Realistically I don’t think Microsoft would fund it and I think FH6 is too far into its development cycle to change tack. I’m just hoping that there’s still some more tracks and cars in the pipeline for FM. It would be nice if T10 could confirm or deny that; it’s been a week already.

The game would’ve been a perfectly servicable game as an accessible alternative to GT.

The fatal problem in terms of concept was the “car points” straightjacket that ruined that accessibility. And despite reversing course, the game was half forgotten by then.
