You need to make the signs that indicate how many meters you have to brake (Before the turn starts) ALOT BIGGER!
These signs also need to look exactly the same way on every track. We dont care one bit if it reflects what the track looks like in real life.
Also we need to know what gear is suggested for the turn. Just like in Gran Turismo, their system is great and you can copy as much as you can from it.
It also makes no sense to have the HUD at the bottom right corner, it should be centered while playing with the bumper view.
I speak for every single hardcore driver out there. (We play without assists, we play without the suggested line, we play with a wheel and we play with manual gears)
We represent a minority in this game and our experience is a bit broken at the moment.
You may want those things, not everyone does though. There is absolutely nothing wrong with you saying “I would prefer bigger signs and gear indicators and here is why”. But please don’t start saying everyone wants the same.
And you mention hardcore driver. Well sorry the hardcore drivers I know want to decide for themselves what gear to use.
This makes no sense.
If you know the track you don’t need marker boards to tell you where to brake, also who drives bumper view?cockpit view is where it’s at.
And I like where the hud dials are bottom right of the screen and out of eyes way.
I’ve been using bumper view for near 20 years (dating back to GT1.) For me, it gives the best feel of what the car is doing. Body roll, tail going, I can feel all of it quicker from the bumper cam.
In regards to the post subject; learn the tracks and you won’t need the corner distance markers. Enough laps, and you’ll just know where your brake points are.
I also use bumper view. Tried cockpit view and it hurts my eyes if I use it for too long. Tried a few of those mods that force cockpit view and had to keep pausing the race to give my eyes a rest. Bumper view though? Can race several hours with no breaks (not to be confused with no brakes, racing with no brakes isn’t advisable)
Usually braking points are marked by darker parts on the track which represent brake zones which is in pretty much every other simulation racing game starting all the way back in the 1990’s to today.
I’m unsure why people are angry at the OP for asking for something that’s common.
That being said I could careless about turning my braking line off. I just use it so that it tells me where the corners are and to prepare accordingly. That’s pretty much all it does since most of the time braking with the braking line is a bad move.
Also I’m not a slow driver either I’ve pretty much taken top 200 times on the leaderboard for some of the rival stuff so people are free to feel whatever they believe. You just do you.
I always play simulation steering no line no traction control no stability an manual no clutch simply cuz the clutch isn’t realistic and it’s way too much to have to use a clutch in between gears and it’s always been instinct for me I’ve always went off the sound of my motor and my speed but I’ve been using the line lately but yet I’ve encountered times where the line isn’t accurate. Like some spots where it’s red to slow down I can hit faster than the red and some green spots I have to slow down on because I’m goin too fast even though the line is green but it sounds to me that u like gran truisms which I’ve beat several turismos and never knew what that number in the curb was for ha ! I just drive and slow down for curves because every game plays different like you have to slow down a lot more for curves on forza motor sports compared to the horizon games
OP, you do not speak for all… not even close. The brake markers are good as is. If you are trying to read the numbers off of them you are doing it wrong. They are there for reference points that you see out of your peripheral vision. Why do you need a suggested gear for the turn? Feel the car and know what it needs. Based on how hard and long you were on the brake you should know the gear. Everything you suggested, except for the HUD location, sounds very arcade like and not sim like.
I agree with the OP; theres no valid reason to disagree with what he’s said…
Believe it or not, but in real life racing there are brake markers for the drivers. In forza they ARE too small and are usually gone by lap 2 because some noob has crashed into them
Also, as you gain experience without the Racing Line, you will eventually gain a sense of how far away you are from the corner.
It’s a good tool for less experienced players, but from my experience the suggested gear is almost always at least 1 gear slower than the optimal speed through that corner.
The centered dashboard HUD is one of my favourite quality of life features in Gran Turismo Sport. Certainly helps me stay focused on the road.
You don’t.
Also, Forza is a series that no longer places its main focus on the hardcore.
Anybody else notice lines going across the track where the marker board are? Definitely wasn’t there before… maybe it is a new addition to Sebring irl?
The suggested line and braking line is a joke in my opinion, especially at night in the rain… they may as well just get the AI to drive your car… I tried it on an older Forza and it’s blatantly an advantage. You shouldn’t be able to set a time with it on either.
