This list is from the official Forza blog. I added pictures so you can see what they look like:
New Japanese Brand Car Rims
It wouldn’t be a Japanese Automotive event without some fresh rims for your rides.
Kit out your favorite JDM cars – or any vehicle in your garage – with 23 new-to-Forza Japanese-branded rims featuring high-profile aftermarket names like Advan, Enkei and 5Zigen:
See, If they were as enthusiastic and persistent with adding to the rest of the customization parts as they have been with rims lately. We’d be in pretty good shape. I cant complain about them dropping new rims. But I can say I’d prefer they focus more on other bodymods. I could even say that most of the rims being added are just very similar to ones that already exist.
That being said, I looked back through these rims and I recognize basically all of them from OG NFS and am actually fairly excited to get them ingame.
Well, I have to say that this is the first time in many years thst seeing this makes me miss having a PS over XB. He’s absolutely right & for such a simple thing as this…SMH
They’ve added a bunch of new rims. Yes. But they all really don’t look that much different from Rims that are already in the game. Let’s be honest. How many variations can you come up with given 1000 rims, 3 hoods, and 1 active spoiler? (Or maybe 3 other spoilers). Could that energy been used better in other areas?
I like the Advan’s and 5Zigen’s the most. The others look good but do look like other wheels already found in the game. Still happy they’re added though.
The car scene is kinda like that IRL. “Fanbois” have their fav “brand” and it’s a ride or die situation. You can only do so much with a rim and keep it functional. Just thank god we don’t get “DUB” rims, they were one of the worst auto trends in the early 2000’s.
I thought they are better modelled? But I was looking at them on my laptop (streaming Xbox to it for reasons). The picture quality is therefore a bit lower so you could be right. They do look a bit different I think
The Super Advan SA3R is particularly bad.
The two-tone color is the iconic color of this rim, and everyone who knows this rim wishes to make a replica.
However, PG modeled this rim with the wrong paint group, so it is impossible to replicate this two-tone.
And what is even worse is that this two-tone can be found by anyone with an image search, literally in one second, to find the correct paint group.
Anyone can type “Super Advan SA3R” and search for images. And it requires neither money nor time.
But they spared even that and created low quality rims. Unbelievable.
