Picking This Up Finally, But

Hello,

I am not at all new to this series. I am however new to this game. I plan on picking it up this afternoon but I would like to know if this series has the same GameSave issues as Forza Horizon 2 does. I spent almost an entire year on FH2 only to be force-updated then not work ever again. Can’t invest that kind of time into a game again knowing this could happen.

PostClaimer: I already am familiar with how to properly start, save, and shut down a game on this console. My issue with FH2 was not at all related to me being impatient or dumb.

I do look forward to getting back behind “the wheel” for some cars—tuning, paints, and of course racing!. Been too long…since November when my game broke, that I’ve raced.

Thanks!

Only the devs know the actual answer but I suspect it uses the same save process/code as FH2 and FM5

I had my save become corrupted once (it wasn’t after an update though). I could still play, I just had to start everything over again. Something like that happening is always a possibility no matter what game you are using since there isn’t an option to save off your updates elsewhere.

So yes, it “could” happen, but I’d imagine it’s fairly rare.

I could be wrong but I think this happens when people quit the game while it is synching. Be patient don’t just quit the game while it is doing that. Even if it takes a few minutes just wait

I lost my save when I was doing something with a Mod (selling it/adding it/don’t quite remember). It froze up. I had to delete my save from the cloud and locally.

Ok so my theory is correct. It’s the same setup as the others.

Which, is scary.

Thanks for the input.

eh… Cancer and global warning are scary, losing progress in a game is a minor inconvenience. Money is so easy to come by in the game that it really didn’t matter much to me.

LOL!

I just don’t wanna grind for almost a year to have happen what happened to me with FH2. My “consumer awareness” was raised because of it. FM should feel lucky I even dropped money back at them. (Like they care)

I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s a rare thing to happen and it could occur in any game.

Just going on the number of reports of this problem here on the forums it seems that it’s much less of a problem than it was with FH2. There are tons of reports of game save issues on the FH2 forum and relatively few of them here on the FM6 forum.

Thanks Mango. This is my first day over here. I spent a LOT of time on that side of things. Thanks for pointing out the obvious to me–look at both front pages. Which one has more issues? Not this one.

Have a great night.

I would suggest taking a USB flash drive and copying all saves to it. I haven’t had a corrupted file yet, but if I do I’ll be saved. They’re relatively cheap, a 16GB is more than enough for a save file of several games and it only runs about $15 dependant on location of purchase.

“Back-ups” or extra copies of saved games are not good, and will be invalidated if there is an attempt to bring in an older “copy” of a saved game. FM6 is saved twice on the Xbox One, once the basics locally, and again in The Cloud.

MookStunna - Double-checked for the umpteenth time on your FH2, and the recommendation is “something” hiccuped in your profile (Gamertag) on that game because there is nothing wrong with what is on The Cloud storage. Again, the recommendation has been to delete your Profile on the X1, do a full hard restart on the console, then recover your profile from Xbox Live again and try the game.

Good Morning Kind Sir,

I think I am gonna have to punt. Last night I performed the “remove disc-mac address reset-super duper hard reset-remove profile-reset-reinstall profile-reset, try and launch.” After 8 hours of sync, it got to 99% then told me after another 3 hrs that it couldn’t sync. So if it’s a corrupted file…is that then stuck on my console forever? If you like I can PM the specific instructions for this round from XBLSupport. I don’t know what else to do. You know how much time and effort I have put in, let alone what you have been so kind to help me with–and I know I’ve been a pain in the duodenum

Thanks,
Mook
