Photo Mode has me Raging

So, maybe this is just a complaint I have, but I’m pretty upset that you can no longer get to photo mode through the start menu like you could previously. The only way I see to get to photo mode is holding up on the D Pad. This makes it nearly impossible to get an action shot, say mid drift or something. You have to physically take your hand off of your steering to get into photo mode thus making it impossible to hold a drift or keep your car straight. I really hope turn 10 fixes this. OR, if someone could enlighten me on if I am missing some easier way to get into photo mode.

Rant over.

D Pad is the only way for now.

Harder but not impossible https://forums.forza.net/turn10_postsm964546_My-Gallery.aspx#post_964546

You should be able to access Photo Mode via Rewind.

Enter Rewind, choose to show a Replay, then take a photo.

You can also watch Replays after Solo races.

It should be noted that this is only possible in offline mode, you can’t review replays in Horizon life mode.

But yeah, replay is the best alternative for action shots

You don’t have to hold up on the d pad you can just press it.

Do you not have a thumb on your right hand?

Oh shoot, I forgot about my right hand thumb, stupid me…

Of course I do. That’s not much easier. Pretty uncomfortable to awkwardly hold your controller while drifting just to open photo mode. I just hope they bring back the option to get to photo mode through the menu. It is a LOT easier…

omg thank you

Honestly, I’d recommend learning the rewind method for action shots anyway. I’d always stress so much about being perfectly lined up by the time I got to the right spot, that I’d screw up way before. It CAN BE a nicer experience to just nail the drift, watch it in replay and pick the best shot from there. There is a huge drawback to doing this though, which is that if you go too far forward in the replay, going back will leave tyre marks on the road where the car had been. You gotta nail it the first try (or just leave the replay then watch it again)

edit: I agree with above, drone mode on dpad would be good

Works for me…

I have to agree, it’s annoying. I keep messing up and pressing start. There’s really no good reason for them to have removed it from the pause menu.

Inside the controller settings menu you can switch the horn and photo mode buttons.

…and on an Elite controller you can set either of those to one of the underside paddles, making it much easier to grab pictures “in the moment”. :+1:t2:

Thank you. This will make things easier!

As said. Controller options you can swap it with the horn so you press down the right stick. Works a lot easier. But still would be better if you can access through pause menu

I would like them to swap Drone Mode with Photo Mode, i.e. put Photo Mode back in the menu screen and have Drone Mode on D-Pad.
