For us who are limited with vram (4GB) on high settings geometry quality looks bad, tree lod is very short and often you can see 2d trees very close to you, it ruins visuals of game. Setting it with ultra fixes problem but sets textures to ultra too, that consumes large amount of vram and making game unplayable.
I will attach picture
Surely with only 4gb of vram you should run medium quality instead of high?
Given the performance impact of env geometry quality I would imagine you’d still suffer performance issues at ultra even if textures weren’t ultra
The OP has a point. A lot of games allow you to select quality of geometry (which is not VRAM heavy) separate from texture quality.
Fh5 does, just not with ultra.
The bit of reading I did on recommended settings has geometry quality as quite a high performance hit regardless of textures
I know I need to upgrade, only thing left is gpu but it is very expensive still plus a lot of people here have 4gb vram gpu’s
And game doesn’t look that bad at all but lod is inconsistent as you can see on that bush at the right side of picture. One is fully loaded while one next to him is 2d very low quality one. Same goes with the trees some has good lod other are god awful like that one in front of car
In my testing Geometry Quality doesn’t hit performance at all that much. I just want them if they want at least on high settings to use 3d trees as lod and not 2d ones or those 2d ones put far away and not close
