Since using Performance mode, I’ve been much happier with the graphical quality on console.
But, Performance RT still looks very poor. The reflections look off, low quality, very limited, with ghosting on the denoising particularly in night or low light settings.
My question is, could we have a roadmap for when RT will be improved to a presentable quality level, when RTGI is implemented? Because it would take it to another level; and while regular Performance mode looks great for now, especially since colours are much more as they should be more recently, RT is what was advertised to us, but isn’t really useable due to the low quality and rate of samples.
I’m hoping as they optimise the quality can be improved further. They’ve made minor improvements so far. RTGI though, I’ve heard them mention it is planned, but don’t think they specified only on PC.
If they just increase the shadow LOD distance, that will make Performance mode magnificent. Replays show the car’s self shadowing disappearing often, and things like fence shadows appear very noticeably in front of the car too near currently also. And some self shadows in the cockpit at times are fuzzy.
RT makes the most difference in the cockpit when it’s on, but with RT on all types of surfaces it will be very noticeable. Currently, it’s very mixed, as with only shiny surfaces using it the reflections seem to not look correct.
