Also just happened to me on XBX. Game booted to Horizon story, then froze on loading screen with stats after completing the race.
Closed game, restarted console and started FH5. Loaded to Summer Party festival menu.

On completion of Horizon story “Icons of Speed” chapter 5 - ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER, I got the infinite black screen. Waited a couple of minutes then quit to dashboard, quit game and then restarted.
Unfortunately got stuck on the loading screen for way longer than the 6 mins 30 secs it usually takes for the game to load on the One X so had to reboot the console and load again… normally can’t be bothered posting about bugs - kind of expect them (sadly) - but that one really got my goat!!

After the initial intro chapter, game went into perpetual loading mode (on XSX); had to quit the game & restart. Same issue has occurred on other stories as well.

Anyone on here having the same problem as i have with one thing after another chapter. i get the 3 stars as required but after completing it. goes to a black screen and doesn’t gobany further
its the same issue i had the donut pt2 story last month
Also same issue here. On Xbox One so it’s definitely not platform dependent.
And I love their “it’s ok to shut the game off here” approach but at least they answered that question, after the fact for most of us of course. I did wonder what might be lost when I was forced to do that after they forced me to start the stupid story.

Yes i have to, i keep having to reset the console to fix it, its getting annoying cause i want to complete the mission
I completed the first 4 chapters of this story. I logged off and came back the next day to find that the completions had vanished and I had to start again…
Same issue here. I sent a ticket to forza about this and still no answer
Same here! The only way to get going again is to re-start as well. very annoying as I don’t know if I was able to achieve the goal and get the points…Using Xbox One
Which one did you have that issue on?
The one that caused the issue for me was the 5th one, completed via the Airstrip (Offroad right and onto the strip, it’s barely long enough to do it with)
