PC - MS Store: Error Code 0x0 when Launching Game (3910076)

Someone above moved it to an external HD and back again. That may be a viable option for you.

This exact issue is effecting you on console?

This is literally the first and only report we’ve gotten of this so any additional information would be appreciated.

At this point this is solely an issue with the Microsoft Store on PC due to an installation directory conflict which is something that’s basically impossible on console.

Hi folks, we have moved this into the Known Issues section of the Troubleshooting Hub. While the team works on a solution, players with enough C drive space should have a workaround following these steps:

  1. Open the Xbox App
  2. Click Name/Gamertag in the upper left
  3. Select Settings
  4. Select Install Options
  5. Make sure the default folder is set to C:XboxGames
  6. Uninstall and reinstall the game and install to the C:XboxGames folder

You can also continue to help the team’s investigation by submitting a ticket at Forza Support with your DxDiag information.

My suspicion was that I couldn’t use “Advanced Installation and Management Features” for this game. Forza Support wasn’t a great listener in that regard. I now tried going for “Xbox Insider Hub”. Installed the app via MS-Store, clicked my way through and came to “Preview”. There I selected “PC Gaming”. It enabled some updates for Xbox components and apps. Updated it via Microsoft Store, restarted PC. Now I could enable “Advanced Installation and Management Features” for this game. I moved the game via the updated XboxApp to “[Driveletter]:\XboxGames” and the game runs now.

To make it clear, I don’t condone the need for Xbox Insider Software to play this game. This is only a “band-aid-fix” to make the game run for now. Forza is still in need of a patch to fix the problem of a possible assumption that the gamefiles are located in “[Driveletter]:\XboxGames” and not in “[Driveletter other than system]:\WindowsApps” or “[Driveletter of System]:\Program Files\WindowsApps”. This happens without enabling “Advanced Installation and Management Features” which some users don’t even have the option to.

I have seen 3 Reddit posts in the last 2 weeks of which one is an 0x0 and the other 2 sound very similar to it

Unfortunately not much info from the posters though

I’ll ask those users to reply here if they’re able and I’ll keep my eyes open for any more.

Since Horizon 3, I have always installed Horizon games from the Store to a different partition without a problem. Since the invention of the Xbox App and the XboxGames folder, it’s impossible to launch normally. Why did you change something that worked well? Meanwhile, six months have passed since September.

After a year’s break from the game, the two W124s got me in the mood to install it again, but unfortunately this problem took it away .

I have the following solution, game was not able to start since September for me, tried to reinstall it without success. Today it did not work after reinstalling from MS Store, but after uninstalling it and installing it via Xbox app it was successful  The download was slowler than in MS Store, however in end effect the game came back to life. Check this out

and again this error (E:0-0)
yesterday i played and had no problems. Today i started and the xbox app tells me, i should had change the computer and must log out and than log in. After this i run FH5 and get the error E:0-0.
i start Forza Motorsport and had the same Problem, program goes back to desktop. After this, i tested FH4 and i had no problems. now i reinstall FH5.
After all Updates i must reinstall, this is not normaly. I think there must be somethings wrong with the user config file. Maybe after an update the software override my dates and set a default on C: (i use F: for my games)
Why is it so hard to make a full running update software that dont change user configs?

The same (E:0-0). I could play the game again yesterday after six months’ break and that’s for now. Reinstalling the game like yesterday via Xbox app did not solve the issue…

Same for me. I play on xbox and pc. Xbox is ok. I havent played on pc for a month or so, and tried to run it yesterday and getting 0x0 error. Earlier everything was fine

I’m reinstaling FH5 right now…

I haven’t seen any further reports of this happening to anyone else so I think it’s fixed.
