Here’s the support ticket I put out on the support site;
This is consistent throughout gameplay. Doesn’t matter where. I’ll be driving along and then the game will dive from ~90 FPS to 13 or less. It’ll sit like that for a while and possibly fluctuate into the high 20’s and single digits. If I rewind or go into the pause menu, I’m back to smooth gameplay. Then it’ll stall again a short time after resuming. Not certain if it’s related to the random crashes either. It doesn’t seem to be.
I’ll get video of this later, but I’m curious if any of you other PC guys have this issue too?
I haven’t had hitches in gameplay but my performance tanks in menus pretty frequently. Steady 60 everywhere else but as soon as I enter a house menu I’m down to sub 30 and my GPU fan is screaming and usage shoots from about 60-70% to maxed out. I have Vsync on so it’s not like it’s just overexerting itself rendering way too many frames of the menu as it would with it off.
One suggestion I would make is to run something like HWmonitor from CPUID in the background while you play, and look at the load% when you get your FPS drops, if it spikes to 100% load it’s possible you’re getting bottlenecked under certain in game conditions and you should dial down a few settings. I noticed shadows made a much larger performance difference than I expected and tuning it down to high really doesn’t look much different for a huge stress off my card. Though, to be honest, something tells me it’s probably just typical optimization issues as is the norm nowadays.
The solution that helps to me!
My videocard was installed at the angle because of too big cooling system of CPU.
I have upnlug and plug again my videocard, and make some addition stand on the corner of it.
Sounds weird, but it helps!
Sry for my language.
Hope It will be useful for someone.
