Like the title says, the game audio will start crackling from time to time until its almost constant, then the game will start lagging extremely ( down to 15 fps with completely inconistant framerate ) which only gets worse, seems to get better when finishing an event, but only for a few minutes at max, until the game is rebooted.
Specs:
ASRock H170 Pro4/D3
Intel i5-6500
Geforce GTX 1060 3GB
ASUS Xonar DGX Audio ( driver installed and running )
Connected Devices:
Logitech G910 ( Driver is installed and running )
Roccat Lua ( Driver is installed, software not running )
Wired Xbox 360 Controller
1366x768 screen via DVI, active, but not used for Forza
1920x1080 screen via DP, active, used for Forza.
All audio goes through the ASUS Card, although i doubt its the cause, all information helps, i guess.
Any ideas are apprechiated, i can provide more infos if necesarry.
I have the exact same Problem as you mentioned… after 1-2 hour Gameplay that wierd crackling Sound appears and my FPS drop instantly and starts lagging! it disappears after 3-4 seconds and all is fine…
Specs:
Intel i7-7700k
Geforce GTX 1080Ti
16GB RAM
I checked my temperatures and all is fine, no overheating or such… All Drivers are up to date.
Update: I tried identifying the issue a bit, and it seems that committed memory reaches 16 gigs ( what i have, physically ) and falls back to the pagefile, which is obviously slow, so we might have a memory leak here ( although the used memory never goes above 8? ) I’ll have to test this further but so far its very likely that its related to memory.
I’ve also now got the same issue since Monday’s patch. Before the patch it ran as smooth as butter but now after playing for about 40 minutes to an hour I get this frame stuttering and the audio crackles. This is really frustrating as it becomes totally unplayable especially as it ran so well before the patch.
I’ve got a 6 core 5820K running at 4Ghz with a GTX 1080Ti and have 4 SSDs in raid 0 and 32GB of ram so normally it flies in Forza even at extreme settings. If I run with V-sync on at 60fps GPU use never goes over 70% and the CPU isn’t exactly stretched either. I’ve not noticed the ram use go over 8GB but maybe I’ll run some more metrics to see if I can spot something.
Even restarting Forza doesn’t make a difference and the only fix seems to be a reboot.
I don’t have any problems while playing with 96 KHZ. Just some weird sound artefact every now and then, sounds a bit like a MP3 that is badly encoded. But it’s very rare.
There is something in the patchnotes i think that 44,1 KHZ can cause problems.
Edit: Im using my GTX 1070 as “Soundcard” using the HDMI Output. Or my Teufel USB Headset.
Exact same problem here.
First thing I thought without further investigation was that it was classic memory leakage.
I never had it before the patch but I did run the have from a separate SSD prior. Post patch (don’t ask why, it’s nothing to do with the game’s performance) I installed to my c: drive (SSD). That would maybe tie up with what Bluethefurry days about page file) virtual memory mashing.
I’m on a decent download speed so will try installing on the separate drive again this weekend and post back.
Maybe by then this annoying post moderation will be removed…hint hint mods.
I have the same problem with audio hitching rather than a crackle. I fixed the crackle with the hz change, but this seems to be a separate issue. After 15 to 30 minutes are so the frame rate drops kicks in and the audio stutters even more. I have a RX 570 4gb/FX-8350/8gb of ram. I’ve also noticed that the lod is super low even though most settings are on ultra.
Update: seems like my Xbox 360 Controller was the issue! i had high CPU/Memory usage while playing with Controller wich causes my game to stutter after short time. i unplugged my Controller and all the stutter/fps drops went away! Playing with Keyboard right now and have zero issue…
i fixed it myself by setting its FPS limit to 30, memory leak theory didn’t really work out as expected as it ONLY happened at 60+ fps, i’m out of ideas
