Hi all,
I’m having a weird bug where whenever I try to access the pause menu by pressing the ESC key, my game crashes. It’s been ongoing for about a couple days now. Tried doing some research but haven’t found a solution yet and it’s really annoying.
If anyone can help that’d be wonderful.

Bump, has anyone found a solution for this? Tried contacting support but haven’t received a reply so far. It’s been pretty annoying since I can’t access certain functions that are only available through the Pause menu.
In addition, I’ve been getting disconnected from online out of nowhere randomly and then the game attempts to reconnect me. Happened about 3-4 times today.

I have the same issue. I’ve just bought Standard edition and whenever I try to access start menu, it freezes for about 3 seconds and throws me back to the desktop. I’ve tried to reinstall, but didn’t help. Thinking to reinstall my Windows.
Having the same issue here, not sure what is causing it. Each time I press escape the game freezes and crashes.
I’m having exactly the same issue! The demo worked fine, so I bought the full game, but the game is so unstable! It crashes EVERY TIME when I press Escape to enter the pause menu. What a piece of junk!!!
Has anyone found a solution for that? When it works it runs beautifully - constant 60fps on Ultra, FullHD, but it’s so unstable! Another MS game that has stability issues is MS Flight Simulator 2020, but after a couple of months they solved the crashes. Here 2 years passed and this title is still unstable!
+1 to that! Prior purchasing the Ultra gamepack version of the game I installed the FH4 Demo from MS Store. It runs perfectly. No isues at all, but the full game crashes EVERY SINEGLE TIME when I hit escape to enter the pause menu.
Anyone found a solution???
Don’t worry, just go through the first race, after which everything will be fine. Sorry for my English if I messed up somewhere.

Same thing here, got the Ultimate Edition for Christmas, so fresh install, tried installing on two computers, one of them has barely any software on it. Both crash immediately upon pressing escape. I tried finishing the first race with the McClaren, but I could try doing all 4 seasons like suggested above. I definitely tried all the grey screen crashes including: Removing any conflicting software like sound and mobo software, created that .bat file to kill explorer, updated my graphics card driver, and reinstalled and repaired the game.

you need to log a ticket to FH support with all the details you can share about your setup (specially graphic card, version of the drivers ). I’ve already read about need of using older drivers in some cases so could be worth testing.
Same here. I just bought it. Don’t want to be regreted.
Just go through the first 4 season races and everything will be fine. Same this happened to me when I firstly downloaded and installed the game, I literally opened and closed the game about 10 times and tweaked settings etc. but after completing the first 4 races at once it was perfect and till yet it’s running flawlessly. Just complete the first 4 season races.
i recently claimed the house from the little movie scene but whenever i open my game it just crashes.

there are two ways to fix it
i play on a computer and i just put a key board behind my computer i do not use a pc .idk what to do for a pc tho
