After playing Forza Horizon 4 I found out that if i play for a while i can’t open the menu anymore. I can’t open the menu, change the radio station, open the map, … Does anyone share this problem and/or has a fix? The current fix is to restart the game, but that will only let me open the menu / change the radio station like twice. Playing on Windows 10.

Had that for a day, then it magically disappeared again. Can you not even press ESC on the keyboard? For me it was just controller input that was somehow locked.

No he actually cant do anything… his keyboard works, he can drive etc. but dont get into the pause menu

Actually no, he can drive with his keyboard but ESC doesnt work.
xDerKoenig is right. I can drive w/ my keyboard and the controller but not enter the menu. ESC doesn’t work either. Also, X1 wdym by “my controller input was locked”?

I had the exact same problem, I could control the car just fine but neither ESC nor Start button would work. Then it just worked again. Now I can’t even load the game. Something is seriously broken.
Would be great if we could resolve that problem so fast as possible 
I guess we found the problems, when u use R3 or L3 (press the stick) then it doesnt work anymore…
Not pressing the sticks doesn’t do anything for me sadly. Still doesn’t work.
I mean its not a bug fix, but we thought its coming from use L3 R3… but still, we found a option… just use the standard settings for youre controller and you should be fine for the moment.
yeah but I would like to have a manual transmission…There’s no upshit+downshit with left trigger being gas and right trigger being brakes, with B being handbrake.
but its still a big problem, i mean u drive and sometimes you press the sticks…

I have the same problem since recently and just want to add my suspicions/informations.
Only thing I know I changed is using a custom Controller-Layout with “Previous Radiostation” being the only new function (doesn’t seem to work for me).
Whenever the bug occurs I can’t change radiostations (bound to D-Pad, didn’t check keyboard) and am unable to enter the menu (both controller and keyboard).
Pretty sure entering the menu itself is bugged and not the controller-input as I can use the interact-button to enter my houses but not open menu when popups occur (same button) and I can leave the house with the same button that fails to open the menu in free drive.
I can’t drive or go to menu when im playing co-op with my brother. He have same issue when he is starting lobby. 
Playing on PC and I have an issue with the MAP button not working. I am using a ds4 controller. The map/menu button will just stop working - i haven’t been able to play the game more than 10 minutes without this happening. Also, when changing radio stations for the first time the following buttons/binds stop working - map, rewind, change radio station.
PC player here using a DS4 controller. I am having this same issue. I haven’t been able to play the game more than 10 minutes without the Map/Menu button breaking and no longer working. Also, changing the radio station causes the Map/Menu, rewind, and change radio station buttons to stop working. However, the map button still breaks on its own for no apparent reason even when i don’t change radio stations.
This is a huge issue and should be acknowledged.
Same issue here using an xbox one elite controller on a windows 10 pc and, cant access the menu or radio after pressing the radio once. i will say i am using a custom mapping because all the default one suck.
bump. still having this problem. game is unplayable. i haven’t been playing the game. this needs to be acknowledged. i paid $100 for this game, ultimate edition, and i cant even go into the game menu…
This recently started happening to me as well (for about a week so far) on XBox One X. There are two possibilities when I attempt to play:
(1) At first, menus are not available (the map/menu buttons are completely unresponsive). Also disabled at this time are ANNA, Skill Points while driving, and the ability to enter race events. So basically I can just drive around and not race, not get skills, etc … but then after a few minutes ANNA is no longer grayed out, and everything else works and it’s all fine.
(2) As above, except it’s never fine. The menu never becomes available, can’t enter races. etc. Or, possibly, the lag-time for the menu becoming available exceeds my patience waiting for it (generally 15-20 minutes max).
I’d love to play the game I payed for. On the other hand, it’s not locking up like it was before, so maybe a fix broke something new?
