Now i was having the download restarting problem for a longtime, but i fixed that with reseting the windows store in command promt.
But my current problem is that when i start it, a black screen comes up with Forza 7 in the middle, and it sits like that for a long time until it closes itself out…
I preordered the game and still have not been able to play it yet…
Yes, same here. I have paid £80 for a black screen simulator!
I downloaded ok no issues. When I run the program 1st time it started in a small box center of the screen, eventually it switched to full screen mode and I was able to watch the intro video.
Then It said about selecting my racing driver costume or something, at that point it switched to 3 black screens and some rock music going on in the background. I left it like that while I made a cup of tea, and still nothing happened. Eventually I had to ALT-F4 to close it.
After that, when I try to start the game all I get now is as described in the above post. A black box in the center of the screen, with the Forza & XBOX logo. It just sits there and after a few minutes it closes itself.
I have reset the windows store. That did not help. I have now un-installed and am re-downloading 100GB AGAIN!!! Luckily I have no limits and fibre so it can be done overnight. If that does not work, how do I get my refund for a faulty product?
System specs:
RYZEN 1700 @ 3.9Ghz
32GB G.Skill Trident Z @3066Mhz
2 x Vega 64 Crossfire
3 x Iiyama 4k freesync screens.
Forza installed to SSD drive.
Try reset the windows application again via windows settings “win+i” than apps&features, find Forza 7 → advanced → reset. Now go back to the store app and click on FM7 Ultimate, than make sure you reinstall all the DLC listed below for the Ultimate Edition. Now also make sure all XboxLive services are running, via “win+r” and “services.msc”. What may also help is to logout your store account and disable internet than start FM7 in offline mode and restart again, if asked select you want to use your older cloud data and login back your store account.
Hi Andy, thanks for the suggestions, I will try tonight, I did try the app reset from win10 settings, but that did not work. Will see if re-installing helps, if not I give the offline thing a whirl!
If that doesn’t work, you can try a reinstall of all the Xbox-apps through Windows Powershell (powershell is located somewhere in your start menu)
copy and paste this line in powershell to reinstall xbox-stuff.
Try the mothod I talked about here: https://forums.forza.net/turn10_postst104514_Black-Screen-On-Running-The-Game.aspx
