Paddle and stick shifting animations

  1. The paddle shifting animations are exagerrated. It has been like this since the launch of FM5. The animation should be more subtle, and thumbs should never let go of the steering wheel.

  2. When downshifting multiple gears in a short time, the shifting animation cannot keep up with the actual downshifting speed. This happens on both stick shifting and paddle shifting animations. It is very noticable and distracting.

  3. Reduce the amount of “hand stretching” animations. In this video it is REALLY bad: Forza Motorsport 6 - Volvo 850R at Brands Hatch (Rain) - YouTube He does it EVERY 5 seconds!

This series has always been about quality, therefore these areas should be improved as well.

EDIT: just noticed that I did not post this topic in the “FM6 Support” section. Mods, feel free to move my post to the right sub-forum.

Hood view.

Hahahah…

… No. :expressionless:

Traditional automatic tranny cars like the Buick Regal GNX have way too many hand-stretch animations, but the paddle and stick cars don’t.

Forza 5 was the same way when downshifting quickly. The hand in the animation has to return the the wheel between each gear so it cannot keep up.

Perhaps animations aren’t a very high priority on T10’s list of ambitions, as evidenced by the cockpit view since FM3, where the wheel still doesn’t go to the proper lock level, in contrast to the real-life version of that car.

This is why I often go to the hood or bumper cam - it makes cornering and taking racing lines more natural and precise.

You can use hood view, I paid to use 1st person and I would like responsive shift animations! Been a fan of this series since the first game on OG XBOX, but this is the last Forza game I am ever buying if they don’t fix this bs!
