Haven’t posted in a long time, been mostly lurking since the end of H4 but to see this news today…this is really disappointing and sad. Will miss his streams dearly
And what a way to go out… with class and dignity.
John will be greatly missed and will leave a void that will be impossible to fill.
First Mechberg and now John…
I don’t know what to say. I’m not happy about this. Not one bit! I’m sad.
I have always had more of a lurker role while watching John’s streams and unfortunately lately haven’t been there much, because of the time zone differences and my own daily schedule, but, whenever I could watch his streams, they were always good fun. John’s articles and streams always stayed authentic to the car culture that Forza franchise should be about. In recent years Forza has been distancing itself from that culture and is heading towards… I don’t even know what.
John is one of a kind and T10 should have kept him in their ranks.
Well, things change and because of that I kind of feel like I’m alienating more and more from Forza. Old-timers hop off the train and new people hop on. Seems like my stop to hop off isn’t that far anymore.
It’s a shame to see the real car guys being pushed out like this, but it reflects the direction the games are going in. Horizon isn’t about the cars anymore, it’s become a more generic game aimed at kids (not enthusiasts) with way too much focus on superficial padding. Personally I don’t like this direction, but if that’s the way they’ve chosen to take it then this move fits with that. I hope this isn’t indicative of how Motorsport is going to be, I guess time will tell.
My thanks go to all the truly enthusiastic car folks who made Forza what it was, good luck with whatever comes next.
Motorsports was always the more serious racing game, whereas horizon was always the Arcady style over substance game, so the direction they are taking horizon is the way it’s always been the dressing up and dancing and prancing is part of it and always will be. Like it or lump it.
Here’s what I think. “Official” staff just don’t draw as much engagement as the unofficial. Simple as that. Engagement metrics are what’s important when it comes to social media/streaming/Youtube. Why have someone from team Forza officially, when a guy like AR12Gaming, with over a million subs, does it for “free”? Don Joewon Song has 700K subs. Same thing. No one officially can compete with these Youtubers. It’s why they had to buy and waste money on Ninja when Mixer was a thing. It’s a business thing in the end. Good luck to John and others.
Sad times in the Forza Community!
Remember when Raceboy was teaching him how to drive in FM6. Everytime he missed a corner RB would spin him and yell “wrong”. Fun times long gone!
Only one stream coming on Thursday?? Not that I’m going to watch it anyway, but great job,. I hope the free content is worth it.
Hiya WindsweptDragon.
How do you post twitch videos? All I could do was the link. I’ve looked in here for a guide, but no luck finding one.
Thank you.
Its a weird perspective as Im almost certain this game has the least legitimately new vehicles in the series. 18 at launch.
No no more hand holding no more dumbing down racing for those that aren’t old enough to drive yet
please stop
FH4 spanned 3 years, and put out cars up to the week before this games release.
This game is 5 months old, and is around 200 cars short of what FH4 has in total right now.
Stop sweating that we don’t have more new cars right now… the game is going to go on for a while and they will keep adding new cars.
Small correction, FH4 only had new cars up until the series after the announcement of FH5 at E3.
The last car added to the game was the Vuhl. After that series the game started recycling old series and rewards.
