Some really nice and informative replies. Appreciate the opportunity to read and learn a bit. Hopefully they’ll still be supported just in other ways.
This news is sad and disappointing. In fact, this is more upsetting, frustrating and disappointing than any of the bugs and failures in Horizon 5.
John’s contributions to the Horizon world have been enormous
In particular, both my wife and I looked forward to his weekly scavenger hunts in Horizon 1.
After seeing the changes made in FMS7 I had already decided I would not be purchasing another version of this title as I did not like the direction the game gas heading.
As much as I have loved the Horizon series up till now, I highly question how much longer I will be supporting this title, either, as I am not happy with the direction this game is heading.
Finally, given my disappointment in the direction the company is heading, especially in regards to seeing much of the old staff being replaced, I am not sure how much longer I will be supporting any of the Forza titles in the future.
Up until recently I would estimate that over 85% of my gaming time has been spent playing one Forza title or another. In fact, the only reason I have purchased the numerous consoles (every new one since my first purchase of a 360), was to play Forza.
It has been a great run, but I think I am nearing the finish line with this company.
So now they’re finally cutting down the last point of official influence without any reasons ? Welp…knowing that Gran Turismo 7 is going to get better… guess the Forza Horizon Franchise is going to remain as a ghost towards the rest of the gaming community unless somebody popular discovers it.
Can’t say I am outraged, wasn’t even aware these people existed until I saw this thread, but these days streamers for games are 2 a penny, but then so they are for other things that people want to post videos of online like the lame unboxing videos and all that tik-tok stuff and what have you, anyone with a smart phone can post all kinds of useless rubbish online.
First time I’ve used the ignore poster function, but glad I did
It’s an indicator that financials for the game aren’t doing well. Looking back over the past three years, when big-name games cancel their streamers after six months or so, it means the game is on life support.
@ChihuahuaParty Intersting. I was not aware of this. Thanks for posting!
They want to try something new by giving different Forza players a chance to showcase their content.
I wonder who they could possibly mean.
Sorry, but if something is not broken, it doesn’t need to be fixed.
Regardless of their intent, it is still majorly upsetting to a fair number of us.
From memory, when mixer was still a thing i think we got 100s of viewers across both platforms. Recently the numbers for the streams have been much lower (double digits). My preference would have been to try other things but the decisions been made and the streamers have moved on and arranged other things.
Johns last stream is later today so it would be nice if as many folk as possible showed up for it.
Follow the streamers on their socials to see what they do next, they all have backgrounds connected with cars and I expect that will continue.

@WindsweptDragon Thank you for that explanation.
Anybody know if FailRace is/was a paid influencer? He’s almost stopped making new FH5 videos.
Johns last stream about to start - Twitch
Wouldn’t miss it for the world…sad day but we’re gonna have a good time for one last ride.
Sad and emotional day indeed, but tons of folks showed up to pay respect and say goodbye. Lots of memories that will last a very long time for many of us. Truly a end of a era in my eyes.
Speechless…
